Questa sinfonia è affascinante per la ricchezza inventiva e melodica.Veramente notevole la capacità di orchestrazione.
    Ottima l'esecuzione.
Un grazie per il caricamento e il gradito spartito.

He was a friend and a student of Bô Yin Râ, a true spiritual master and fabulous painter. The first mouvement is probably in line with that...

Perhaps he hadn't reached his mature development as a composer with his first symphonic effort, but already evident is Weingartner's mastery of orchestration and counterpoint, and (contrary to the opinion of some), an innate ability to compose winning melodies of distinction. It's a thoroughly enjoyable work, and I totally concur with "Im Walde"'s statement above.

I was also impressed with the first movement. I was reminded of Raff and the opening of Goldmark's 2nd Symphony.

Wow, that first movement had me enchanted, wanting me to find out what he wold do next. I imagine a lot of people found it boring...

One becomes safely immersed in his music.

I thought his second symphony was "vivace" but I think this one outdoes it for lively energy. We're so accustomed to major works being so very serious, so very languorous, it's almost a surprise to hear the composer seeming to enjoy himself.
