I think Takeda-sensei's perspective does have merit to it, like he says "He who would climb a ladder must begin from the bottom." Basically saying that Hinata should start learning from the basics before reaching too high for the stars, and it's reflective of Hinata relearning the fundamentals of receiving and positioning in this episode, core elements of the game that Hinata never had the luxury to learn when he was younger. Also, Daichi's lecture also helped because by being a better ball boy Hinata is able to be less of a hindrance to the people practicing and lets them practice more smoothly. So I think Hinata did take bits and pieces from everyone and apply it to his revelation.
Yeah like Hinata honestly thought he should also get go to all those training camps. He is not at that level yet, especially not all Japan and not even in regional team. It hurts when others go to those places but if you never learn basics then you will never get to that level. Takeda needed to remind him of that.
It's always so heartwarming as a teacher or coach when your students know you so well they can finish your sentences or have taken your words seriously
Coach Washijo knew exactly what he was suggesting to Hinata when he said he could be a ball boy. He didn't want him there as a spiker and while Hinata doesn't fit his ideals he knows from his own experience what Hinata needs to improve on.
Ive said this on so many reaction vids. But remember this is hinata's first year playing competitive volleyball. He barely played before highschool He is a athletic freak. Crazy fast and has that it factor that top level players have. He's shown this kinda seeing in slow mo, or seeing a glowing area's mid jump, a natural gift/instinct. The more he gets down the tactical and technique side down the closer he brings its to match his raw athelticism and the better he gets 😊 The writer does so well at showing hinata almost super human speed and athleticism but only slowly improving and getting better as he learns the tools to use them affectively Add that with his unmatched determination to be the best and never give up. Real character progression
i like to say that this season is where we start seeing hinata growing into an adult athlete rather than being a boy who likes volleyball a lot. he's starting to realize how he will have to adapt and he is starting to put more thought into sports as a lifestyle. and i like how it's also an appropriate topic to see for highschoolers bc that's where you start seriously thinking about your life and taking responsibility for yourself. it's things like this why i love haikyuu so much
The middle blockers normally don't play the back row. So they are subbed with the libero whenever they move to the back row. That's why Hinata and Tsuki only play the back row when they serve. After their serve is over, Nishinoya replaces them.
Remember in the Shiratorizawa game, when Goshiki was wondering why he was being yelled at more than everyone else by the coach, and the answer was "because he's relying on you the most."
To me, what's bout Shiratorizawa's coach was said in season 3, when he was yelling a lot at Goshiki, and one of his team mates said "He's being tough with you because he's expecting a lot from you", as in, you have potential, and don't you dare waste it. There's of course part of him who wants to deny Hinata, but he also wants to push him, because he can sense his potential. He was right in season 3, at that moment there was no interest in Hinata without Kageyama. He has to leave his comfort zone to actually become better, and that's very very true in sports in general :D
If that's Angelo's reaction to Tanaka training his serve, I fear for my ears when THAT Tanaka moment will arrive during the incoming match haha, he's gonna scream his lungs out
Cut ushiwaka some slack, he aint a bad or mean person like oikawa for example, he is just straightforward and brutally honest. When he says he hates it, he reffers to that creepy stare hinata makes when he gets focused or intense
"Unless he uses footwork" Furudate always 20 steps ahead. Another example of that is the call with Ukai which is probably the biggest theme in Haikyuu but it's only easy to see that once you're done.
09:03 I really like the coach’s expression at the end, very touching! In the ep4-3 he is the VIP in my heart!! 🥺 Thank you for your reactions, I enjoy it every time~😊
I think it was incredibly ballsy of the creator to actually take time to develop hinata this way after such intense tournament arcs. Not sure I would’ve had the fortitude to do so. I might have fallen into the shonen cliche “he’s learning as he fights”
EXACTLY. Honestly if the popular shows nowadays, say, My Hero Academia took a route like this I would get super excited lol 😭❤ Unfortunately it's a real big risk, not a lot of fans dont really like seeing their hero go back to zero/square one. It worked with Hinata though :))
@@giannenivera2329 yeah you know it’s a business first unfortunately. Even behemoths and supposedly shonen staples like Bleach had deadlines. So it’s not surprising that these often young creators are scared to take the time to slowly pull back on the action for slower character development beats. They often feel rushed because the mangakas are often rushed to fulfill expectations and keep sales up so their work doesn’t get axed.
@@jaimeruiz7837 they mean having their main character decide to go back to the basics after a big tournament without anything big going on on the side, My Hero Academia hasn't done that.
Ushiwaka isn't necessarily hating hinata. He just hated the fact that hinata looked seriously determined , because that spells trouble for him (aka, the birth of a monster)
i really d'ont think ushiwaka is the type to get annoyed over something like that. i think he initially didnt like him because his bravado and talk about winning didnt match up with his abilities which were that he was athletic but his technique was full of holes. so he saw him as a mouthy weak player being largely carried by kageyama and the rest of the team. (which is kinda partially true). now when he stares at him i dont think there is any annoyance and instead hes just noticing that he is genuinly trying to grow and succeeding at it. and not just someone who talks big but relies alot on others abilities to get where he is. although i think he still kinda gets annoyed at hinata getting so pleased with himself and determined because he should have developed all this before their match not after.
Ushiwaka was actually helpful. Someone like him asking "what are you even doing" will reach Hinata the best. In beginning Hinata wasnt having any goal. Just being ballboy because he is jealous of other better pplayers who got to go to camp. Now he atleast found something to actually develop on while being a ballboy
ahh this is bringing me back to the time i used to play table tennis. sure it's way different than volleyball but we were taught to practice side/split step on each corner of the table so that we can be prepared wherever the ball goes. just like hinata in this ep, we had to basically just hit the ball while our coach just has like a basket of them and hits them wherever he wants.
Coach Washijo is a stubborn old man. Despite being a stubborn old man, he still let Hinata stayed as a ball boy. Hinata got hit in the balls by the volleyball and Coach Washijo shouted at him that he had told him to keep his damn eyes open, if he had done so he wouldn't have been hit in the balls. He nags and does not show affection but he cares.
Regarding coach Shiratorizawa. A coach from another team is not an enemy. A coach always remains a coach. The coach's task is to transfer his knowledge not bulling schoolboys. Coach Shiratorizawa was #1 in the prefecture, he knows 100% what the players lack. Ukai is a good but too young coach. He is still learning. Hinata was incredibly lucky that Washijo-sensei left him at the training camp. In the first season, Oikawa said, "you can't improve receive overnight." These are basic movements and Washijo knows how to teach the basics as effectively as possible. Thank you for attention.
Hey, I know this might seem abnormal or rude but could I reccomend that you guys watch Ranking of Kings? I think you guys would really like the anime because it's so cute!
15:25 By now you must've definitely finished the next episode but one small character development moment from tsukishima that you mentioned is very subtly hinted in the next episode.
Shame on you guys for thinking one of the only two people for Karasuno that actually has aspersions to become a legit monster would waste any time. When you have the hunger that Hinata and Kagayama have you have no choice but to do everything in you’re power to get to the top (even if a spiteful dude says no). Also It was a huge moment for his coaches when they further realized they were part of the problem.
