Yes you’d be right but in this occasion no code was thrown, but coil was definitely bad. Threw plenty of codes while checking which was bad though.

Rough idle is mostly due to spark plugs..
sluggish acceleration is mostly due to coil packs or fuel pump

Was definitely a bad coil pack. Replaced it and is fine now.

You cannot diagnose an Alloytec coil like that, let me tell you first hand, under idle they may fire fine but under load down the freeway they may play up, and they bloodywell do, and sometimes it is more than just the one. Take it from an Alloytec guru, check them under load. Oh and invest in a few timing chains.

It was cactus at idle as well, sounded like it was going to stall all the time. Yeah I know about the timing chains.

How did you know it was that coil ? Did it make a different sound when you unplugged it ? Sorry I’m a bit of a noob haha. Thanks for the vid mate

The motor didn’t change when the coil was disconnected, that’s how I knew that was the dud one. It’s hard to hear in the video, but when a good coil is unplugged the rpm change is very noticeable 👍🏻
