Just a guy who likes cars. All cars, not limited one particular flavour. I’m not made of money 💰 so I do all my own work, interior, body work and paint. Started by owning Valiants and with parts commonly overpriced I self taught myself everything, hence the name

Looking good...all the doors back on...stupid door handle...hopefully you can fix it...see how u go... Can't wait to see the body kit fitted😮😮😮😂😂😂then that car will look tuff as☝️☝️☝️💪💪💪
Nice work mate looking good 👍🏻
Before you go fitting anymore panels, put some masking tape on every area that could possibly come in contact with to avoid scratches. Even if you think you won’t scratch it- do it. Tape every edge of the panel as well. It’s cheap and Dave’s a lot of hard work trying 5o blend it in and stop you from crying over scratches. It is also a hell of a lot easier with a mate, wife eldest son helping out. Oh, and stop using the rattle gun to tighten bolts that don’t need to be super tight. By all means use them to run the bolts up snug and fast, but 5ighten them by hand. The reason being impact drivers strip the threads.
It’s looking good by the way. 🔥🔥🔥
Yep will tape up from now on. I don’t use rattle gun at all on anything other than the wheel nuts. Always use hand tools.
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage yeah good work. Thought I saw you with a power tool tightening up bolts on the left front door. Young fellas see videos using impact drivers and think they need to use them. Battery operated ratchets are fine, but only up to snug and then tighten by hand. 👍
@Louie2309 nope
@Louie2309 👍🏻
Nothings ever easy old mate, looking the goods now.
Cheers mate, least it looks like a car again!
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage Are you going to put headlight washers on it??
No mate.
When’s the blower episode?
😂 good one ☝️
winner?
Of course!
Hawkforn
@BeyBroman heck yeah!👍🏻
💦💦🍆👟🚗💨
I have bendix pads, lasts for 4, 1/2 years on my car,
Bendix is a good pad yes. But because I have factory spares that’s what I used.
Looks amazing, definitely on track IMO for end of year finish.
That’s what I’m working towards. Or at worst early next year.
What brand of paint did you use???
Concept paints unicolour 2k solid
Doors come up alright...now to fit them & the car will look more complete 👌👌👌then u could finish of the bodykit👌👌👌
That’s the plan! Maybe boot lid first.
Nice work mate 👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Trav, the door spats originally were ‘solid’ in that they have a backing with a thread in it. That allows a screw to hold it in place from the inside of the door. Perhaps you could try something similar by bonding a nut to the spat which coupled with Sikaflex, would hold it in place.
Ahhh that makes sense. I have been thinking that I need to fill the back in, then silages it on. Adding a screw would make more sense. Thanks for the tips.
Great effort, mate. I am looking forward to the next video.
Thanks mate!
Top job old mate, what paint ratio did you use, going to try 2k on my panel van ( vb )
Ratio was 2/1 with 10% thinners.
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage Thanks old mate
@froggy121000 You’re welcome buddy. You will enjoy the 2k. A lot easier to work with.
Dog wants out is panting very heavy. Why you don't let dog out.
He is out, trying to get in. He actually really wanted his dinner.
Getting closer and closer, looking forward to it been finished
It sure is. It getting exciting.
Looks great mate
Thanks mate

😂
Getting closer and closer old mate.
Sure is mate!
Car is almost ready looking good what a difference with the new taillights wow
@gstoj7467 thanks mate.
That thing badly needs a tune up, or you need to better your techique
After sitting for a period of time the fuel drains back to the tank and the old mechanical pump has to work hard to pump it back up
Way to flood your engine 👍😂
Had been sitting for a while.
Take my old Ford's any day, key on two pumps on the pedal and bang. Go thru a 1/4 tank starting that thing. Ah the things we do for fun.
😂 for some reason the fuel drains back to the tank.
I always enjoy to see your pedal pumping videos, thanks a lot
Glad you enjoy ☺️
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage wait a minute, do you do it for that long on purpose?
@@viktorhardindyrvold4234 No that’s how long it takes
Man seeing you using the vice right next to the Charger was scaring me 😅
It scared me to buddy.
I certainly wouldn't have the Confederate flag on it but nice general lee mockup no less
I should have to an Aussie flag hey.
Id choose a straight 6 most of the time but with this i definitely would've kept the 5.0 in it. Fits in their nice though
5.0L was used fora different project
I just went the other way around. I hated my struts. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a bonnet stay for a VB-VK
Why did you hate the struts? I have kept the rod ‘just in case’.
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage I could feel the entire bonnet flexing everytime i closed it, and slowly noticed an arc forming along the bonnet, essentially was changing its shape slowly so it would sit perfect at the rear, perfect at the front, yet proud of the guards by about 3mm in the middle. It also used to sometimes just nick the strut body between the bonnet and the top rail if the guard where the bolts are, and catch slightly on the way up from latched.
@borismcfinnigan3430 something to keep an eye on then. 🍻
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage When i was researching it i saw some guys swear by grabbing VN to VR tailgate struts that, although not good enough for a later tailgate, had the perfect amount of force for an early bonnet, maybe mine were just too strong, they were just a random ebay kit.
@borismcfinnigan3430 oh that’s what I got. They did feel pretty strong as well. I will make sure I keep a good watch over them.
Is that an East German Shepard? 😂
I don’t think so…..
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage 😎😎🤣🤣
No trouble latching or unlatching the bonnet with the struts on ?
It latched easily, but was a little harder to open. Will need some fine adjusting.
That used to be $15 d.i.y project when u pulll it wreckers were still arou d before covid. 2nd hand struts from vb-vl wagon and 4 ball studs.
True true!
Interesting. My instructions had the strut the otherway around. I.e., with the rod end connected to the guard.
Interesting. Mine didn’t have instructions so I just put them on the way that I thought it should be.
I have enjoyed the episode. Thank you very much for creating and sharing with us. From William.
Thanks for watching William

Mate it looks like you're so close to being done. It's turning out amazing!
Thanks mate, yeah it’s getting really close. Just a few more things to paint and fit.
Just need to sandpaper the edge of that hub and a file few squirts of CRC then a few taps and it's off... If you dont have those three holes which mine didnt on my VR
Good tip 👍🏻
love it ive always wanted to see a ve\vf done!
Now that would be a sight!
Looking great Trav! Did you refurbish these?
Sure did mate, fronts are Vr and the back is the original VK seat.
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage awesome job.. Are you an upholsterer by trade? I wondered this when you did such a great job of the b pillar covers.
@ClayD76 Thanks for being so kind. No not an upholster by trade. Just something I taught myself how to do.
@@TAVOTravsDIYGarage well mate.. you are a talented fella. Full credit to you for achieving so much on this build by yourself. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching you tackle all aspects. Top man👍
@ClayD76 Thanks mate. I really appreciate that.
Super brother , how far back has the project started bro? I need to wire my front dash cluster etc , could do with anothers methods and steps to putting dash together
I think I done the dash around 4 years ago. I have some early videos on that you could have a look at. Or shoot me a question and I’ll see if I can remember any info for you.
Will be driving video of Chrysler 300C in your Black Adidas Superstars?
Not at the moment
Be good if you actually explained how the upper half of the back seat actually goes in and comes out
If upper half is in the car, grab underneath the bottom and lift up. There is a slide on each side that locates it and it will come out, unless there are headrests, then that’s a whole different story. To refit get in the car and push back hard while also pushing downwards to get the ‘slides’ to locate in.
Bro almost swallowed the ball
A lot of the time he has 2 balls in his mouth. He’s obsessed.
Trim come up nice almost ready to drive👌👌👌
It certainly has 👍🏻
I’m starting to get really exited about this build, good stuff mate looks awesome
Thanks mate, all that hard work is starting to show the rewards.
yep exactly! that herringbone is a rip! haha, awesome work!
😂 thanks mate.
