New York City/Chicago and the Usa are really falling behind on their tall skyscraper trends.
No not really I think it's more like places like Dubai and others like it or just really late on the hole skyscraper super tall building stuff New York doesn't have to do that kind of stuff anymore😊😊 New York is the most legit city on the face of the Earth😂
New York and Chicago would be better if the cities preserve the landscape of a city. For instance, the issue of some gothic buildings that mixed with glassy modern buildings. They should prioritize development with contemporary influences like the era before 2000.

@@linabilmn08 Honestly true, if they want to make more modern buildings, do it in Brooklyn or an area that needs working, don't mix it in with old buildings. they also destroy old buildings (1930s and prior) if they want to build massive skyscrapers in NYC, demolish the buildings built in the 60s and 70s
@@sexmetalbarbie8892 But the tallest in the US is obviously One world trade center and its 7th tallest in the world which INCLUDES the spire, the roof height is 1,368 feet and it would be 36th tallest in the world if it didn't measure by architectural height

Maybe I'm being an old fogey, but while I do like the look of the towers I still think it's weird how there's not really a point in building tall there beyond flashy displays of wealth. Wealth from decades of oil pumping in the region, basically.
If they were all along, say, Wilshire Boulevared in LA, then I'd see the point. Towers along one of the major streets in a vast metropolis with a subway underneath it.
So the equivalent of what you're talking about is Sheikh Zayed Road which is where 90 percent of the buildings shown are located. They're also along a major elevated train line. All that oil is running out and is why Dubai has been spending that wealth into making a metropolis worth visiting.
Only 4% of Dubai's GDP is oil-related and they never really were a big oil producer in the past as well. Oil money is mostly in Abu Dhabi.
