¡HOLA! John! My name is Richard Fernandez from Pueblo, Colorado. I have always loved seeing Ray's movies (I say that not to take anything away from anybody else who had whatever part they participated in the film), ever since the very early 1970's when I could catch one being featured on a afternoon matinee. The one that first caught my absolute attention was the skeleton battle in Jason and the Argonauts. Having a love for dinosuars and prehistoric times, Valley of Gwangi and One Million Years B.C. were a given! Especially for a small boy with an imagination for recreating parts of the movies. Since Clash of the Titans didn't come out till 1981, I had drifted away from most movies as my focus was in being a soldier in the US Army which I served three years. In 1991, I was married and my wife had a love for the movies and told me about Clash of the Titans. We rented it at a "Blockbuster" store and I immediately fell in love with and it took me way back to those childhood memories of yesteryear. I had always wished that someone could make action figure like pieces of Ray's work and I remember that some of pieces were produced and they did have playability but not very detailed oriented. Even though I am much older now, having turned sixty last September, I began to see on TH-cam some of the pieces being made and I don't know how to describe it other than happy! I love the fact that Star Ace took the time to research and meticulously detailed these pieces which to me, are beautiful works of art themselves and I think Mr. Harryhausen would be very proud of!! Thank Mr. Walsh for your very deep interest of Ray's work and bring forth these collector's pieces and giving us a background of each one that I have found in no other videos for them. I do feel that by seeing your presentations I feel as though I have "caught up" into the world of the man and one of all time favorite artists, RAY HARRYHAUSEN!!! ¡Muncho Gracias!!!
Richard - thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful memories of Ray's work. His legacy has matured like a fine wine, and he has more fans today than ever. I was surprised the 1981 Mattel action figures were not a success from Clash of the Titans. These new pieces are a towering achievement. Ray would have been thrilled with the new products and your heartfelt appreciation. Thank you.
This is absolutely stunning! My favourite harryhausen movie, which started my love for Greek mythology. So much, I named my daughter after the titaness mother of the gods, Rhea.
@@WalshBros she even loves harryhausens's work, as she's an artist herself. We went to see his exhibition in Edinburgh at the beginning of the year, it was amazing and I got very emotional seeing all my favourite characters in the flesh.
Wow! Awesome Final Product from Star Ace Toys. Always Love Harryhausen's Pegasus since i'm little kid. Now, i have a chance to be a little part of Great Harryhausen's Legacy! Thank you so much for trust and kind words for my humble packaging design for Star Ace Toys and Harryhausen's Pegasus Statue :)
My pleasure. If you want to get in touch directly with me by email I’d be happy to include more details of your breathtaking work in the next unboxing john@walshbros.co.uk
Love the amazing details in this sculpt of Pegasus! Having the two wing options is a awesome idea and feature. Also love the other accessories like the stand and magnet name plate. Awesome job! Would love this in my collection 💕💕💕
I pre -ordered him a while back, he looks awesome! i own most of the Star Ace HarryHausen statue's, can't wait to get Medusa next year, Clash of the Titans is my all time Favorite move, i have been watching that movie once every month, i really hope we get a Calibos and his throne chair, and maybe even Perseus, Thanks for keeping his memories Alive.
Beautiful recreation of Pegasus from my favorite Harryhausen film. I can clearly remember seeing the trailer for Clash Of The Titans in my local childhood cinema and couldn’t wait to see it. This is one of my most nostalgic childhood memories.
The extras on Pegasus are just as beautiful as the figure itself! Synthetic feathers look so realistic on the wings. So much attention to detail was paid by the artists te creating this.
Had to come here after just finding your Bubo video. Wow, wow, wow! Pegasus is exquisite and the attention to detail is stella, including the extra pieces! My favourite character from the Greek myths, always looked for the constellation as a kid. A truly special recreation. 💖
@@WalshBros You've definitely done him proud. Was lucky enough to see the exhibition up here in Edinburgh and have 2 copies of the book (the special cover with Pegasus) and my friend (unbeknownst) bought the other for my birthday. I'll catch any film I can when I know they feature Ray's creatures - my childhood right there. 😊
@@Alfiejouk thanks for coming to the exhibition and we’ll done on getting that great Pegasus edition of Vanessa’s book. These films have been part of my childhood too.
Wow that's beautiful and what a nice touch adding Bubo and the Head of Medusa, I wonder if the eyes will light up on the model when it comes out. That box is fantastic, the white is definitley the right colour
That is totally AWESOME! Another gem from Star Ace Toys! And as always, the lovely score from Laurence Rosenthal, which I proudly own on CD. By the way; When will your documentary "Movement Into Life" be released? Soon, i hope! 🤓 CHEERS!
Fun fact I discovered, I tried using the pegasus plaque to turn medusas eyes on since it was also magnetic, and sure enough it works :p easier than taking her off her base and fiddling with it in my opinion!
@@roelgonzalez8949 I just took the Medusa head out to try it again and NOW I see how it works. The electronic circuit under the black cover has a little slot/groove on one side of it... stick a small screwdriver in there to pop that electronic circle out and the battery goes inside the clip on the back side of the circuit board. They definitely could have done a better job on the instruction sheet, but, it IS a stunning feature to see her eyes light up!
The deluxe version is awesome but on websites that sell it for pre-order, they advertise that it comes with a saddle instead of closed wings. Does it comes with closed wings or a saddle?
I wondered about this too, and as much as I don't like it when the final product differs from the pre ordered product... In this instance I'd much rather the extra set of modified wings than the saddle. When i pre-ordered this months ago the saddle made no sense😀
@@WalshBros thanks John. Hope you had a good Christmas and New year. I've enjoyed watching all the harryhausen movies that have been on TV over the festive period, good to see them all again.
This looks great although it would have been better for the horse to have been flogged to match the real life like feathered wings. It’s cool though. Thanks for the unboxing. 🖖 & 🤘 Max Power

I’m completely bowled over by the quality and detail put into this model. Hair and feathers, too! An incredible piece.

Oh man! I don’t think we even have this at the office yet! I’m pretty jealous!
I love Pegasus so much, the hero of the film when the Greeks roar and cheer for him!
