Whether we are simply hoping to make our contract or to collect valuable overtricks, we always want to play each hand to the maximum (and, when possible, not put a guaranteed contract in jeopardy by trying for extra tricks). Sometimes we must do all of the work ourselves, but other times we can enlist the help of the defenders!
At key junctures of the play, we might be able to throw an opponent in - i.e. concede the lead - and that player will be left with multiple unattractive choices, all of which help you, the declarer.

I really like the way Curt teaches. I have really improved with him. Not to mention skybridge is amazing as well. I wanted to take lessons with curt but the time difference was too different. Just love this guys teaching.

Not sure stayman would be recognised? - The 1nt was an overcall. Maybe could try an invitational 2nt.

@@carolineekaireb9705 Yes, I am just not sure the Bots would play/recognise them, but then I don't play BBO!

@@carolineekaireb9705 my partner and I play systems on after we overcall 1NT so would have probably bid 2C and then 2N after P replies 2H. P can then decide to go to 3 or not.
