  • I wanted to do a walkthrough of how I'd make a beat using the Synthstrom Deluge. The Deluge is a truly powerful piece of music tech, so hopefully I was able to clearly communicate possible steps for making music with one! If you have any questions about it, please let me know in the comments, and I'll respond as quickly as I can. Thanks so much.

This instrumentation is like fried fish,
Call it crunchy bass (this bad joke only works in writing)
But for real, what a great video!

Really helpful, man. Thank you. I'm at like 3 months or so with mine, so I get the gist of the basics, but it's really helpful to see someone who is fluent in Deluge do their thing. This video had a couple of "duh doi" moments for me, with seemingly basic features/controls that somehow flew over my head up until now.

I'm glad you think so! The Deluge has so much going on that it can be daunting, but it's such a special and powerful device. I'm glad I was able to help!

Of course, when you're playing live in song mode like that, you can get Deluge to record your operations to the arranger, and then you have them stored there for further work / or to repeat a performance.

You're welcome! It's one of those things on the Deluge that simultaneously makes sense, but was so difficult for me to figure out without the manual, haha.

Dude, Bionicle is so sick. The lore for it is shockingly deep.

Dude I spent a good while looking for bionicles. I have no idea where mine went, but I just wanted to buy one for the nostalgia. Couldn't find any. Can't believe they don't make them anymore!

Great demo. Learned a lot from your workflow. Mind sharing where you got those right angle cables? Thanks!

Thank you! And I picked them up online in a pack, they were guitar pedal patch cables (they're each only, like, six inches long). I loved all the fun colors, haha.

Thank you, I appreciate it! And the Deluge is a really cool piece of gear. Very pricey, but really great as an "all-in-one" music making platform.
