Kamala Harris "Coconuts" Beatmaking On OP-1 (Featuring REAL Coconuts)
If you think you just fell out of a coconut tree, you're wrong, and you're about to find out why. In this video, I flip a sample of Kamala Harris talking about coconut trees, along with a bit of sound from a real coconut! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the odd sample source. If you like it, please consider leaving a like and subscribing if you haven't already. Thank you again!

Funky Feline - Teenage Engineering OP-1
มุมมอง 5332 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here's a song written and recorded (Saved? Stored?) on the Teenage Engineering OP-1. It was originally entitled "Catnap," but since the video's lead actor decided to start circling madly and knocking stuff over on the desk once I hit "record," I felt an update to the title was in order. Cast shame upon my frantic gremlin of a cat (but not really, he's very nice and his name is Thor and we love ...

Chromatic Nebula - Teenage Engineering OP-1
มุมมอง 1723 หลายเดือนก่อน
The OP-1 is often described as a "sketchpad," or as a way to "jot down ideas," but I feel that it's a fully-fledged songwriting platform in its own right. Keen ears might catch a sample of the "Ice Field" patch from he Korg MS2000, which featured prominently in the area Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime... can you tell I was scrambling for some kind of fun tidbit to add to this description? SP-404MKII Update: My Top Three New Features!

What goodies has Roland brought us in version 4.04 of the SP-404MKII? Watch and find out! Well... I'm actually just covering my three favorites, they've got an exhaustive list on their website. Ambient Lead Patching On The Moog Matriarch!
มุมมอง 3146 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's Matriarch time, babyyyyyyy. I hope it's fine that everything I make with the Matriarch is piano player noodling turned into spacey ambience. If Moog didn't want every Matriarch patch to be drenched in delay, they shouldn't have put such a nice delay chip in their synth. Not that I'm complaining... Thanks for stopping by to listen. In case you wanted a mix of rambling goofy beatmaking, and the click-clacking of OP-1 keys, I've got you covered. Songwriting On The Synthstrom Deluge OLED!
มุมมอง 3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've had the OLED retrofit to my Synthstrom Deluge for a little while now, but I haven't done a Deluge-centric video since getting it... until now! I was a bit skeptical of the OLED screen and loved the oddly low-tech charm of the original 7-segment display, but now that I've had the retrofit done, I don't think I could go back. It doesn't add new functionality, but instead makes the existing f...
Taking A Bite Out Of Chompi - Is It The Sampler For You?
มุมมอง 7K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Chompi, by Chompi Club, is a new contender in the sampling landscape. It's not trying to compete with the likes of MPCs or Roland's SP-404 MKII however, and instead channels a lot of the DNA of Casio's SK-1. So is it worth a bite, or made in poor taste? LINKS! Can this B1 follow time clock via midi from a drum machine master ?
Sample 2 is a waste of money. Get yourself a Roland P6. It can do everything you'll wish this box could do and then some and then some more.
Such a cool tune! Well done dude
Lets switch to the Casio RAPMAN which made sense, little, too...th-cam.com/video/0NhiQ3mlvog/w-d-xo.html ... or SK-5 sampler, hopefully circuit-bent. --d
The CZ-5000 including a sequencer similar S*Z-1 by Casio with lacked from a hearable delay during play_end and repeat/start_again. The CZ-1 or two were perferable also for their Aftertouch sensitivity and their stack layering abilities. (If these informations were correct, I owned (suppose) one identical CZ-1 once for two times. We reject and forbid, report the military use of all audio and high-frequency/infrasonar p.e.r.p./perpetrator technologies that conflict with all ethics and ancient as universal rights... --d

Forever missed mine after it broke
i just dont get it... even when i just copy your steps on the oscilator section it just dont sound like you... its wierd man no matter what i try it never sounds like in the videos i feel like my moog is broken or something lol it always sound super dull and not funky
I wonder if you can help me confirm a thing ... There is something with my Volca ( or it's that way on all volca Sample 2 ) ... I have a pattern with some muted samples. When I use the "solo" function, it does what it does, but after I turn the "solo" off, all parts are unmuted automatically. I want the muted to stay muted, but may be that's how the Sample 2 works ? : )
After I bought my Moog source my plan was to sell my MG-1, but it has a certain timbre and quality to it that I can’t seem to part ways with. It lacks a lot that the Source has to offer but definitely keeps up and is a great synth! I don’t know if I’ll ever sell it.
Thanks, man! : ) You are the best!
Hi JoshisMakingMusic, short question… What´s the name of the software running on the Gameboy? Thx for your answer. Lectroloop
@@ralfbremen sorry I didn't clarify! It's called Little Sound DJ, or LSDJ for short. The Dirtywave M8 is designed extremely similarly to LSDJ, so if you're familiar with one, it'll be easier to learn the other!
@@JoshIsMakingMusic thx :-)

Just got mine back from my ex girlfriend after 20 years… just gonna check if it still works, I also received a Roland TR 606 too so if they still work excellent result.
Every second of this was enjoyable.
Three years late and really grateful for this video. As someone looking at this device, can someone tell me: 1) Can I use this without a computer? I'd like to use it as a standalone, and I know it comes loaded with samples, but in this video I do not see where they are changing samples. I assume it's throughb the laptop connected?, and 2) If I do in fact need to connect to something, can it be an iPad, iPhone, or some other light device? Thanks for this great video in 2024!
The MT-68 was one of the first keyboards I had. I did a lot of stuff with it, and tried all sorts of things with it. You could make the arpeggio do some weird stuff with limited finger chords, for example. And being able to add reverb and change the attack gave you slightly more possibilities. And some of the drum beats were actually pretty decent.
I know this is a trick that's mentioned on a regular basis, but I get around the polyphony limitation by stacking drums together on a singular pad/channel. Sure, it requires some extra prep work, and it isn't ideal that the kick+snare combo is choking the open hat or the ride cymbal etc. My layout looks like this atm: [Kick] - [Kick+c.hat] - [C.hat] - [O.hat] [Snare] - [Kick+Snare] - [Snare+c.hat] - [Bongo] And I have another kit on the other 8 buttons, with another Bongo hit. The Bongo is replaceable with whatever-the-eff, but I just couldn't see myself getting much use out of a ride cymbal when it's so easily choked.
Please can we have a demo 🙏
I don't have an issue until it comes to it is limited on sound. Now this is my first visit here so I don't have any idea what else you have. I am real big on FX especially ones that change the pitch (octave) and creative sequencers let alone anything iPad related.with just a resonenancecontrol and n ADSR in my set up has unlimited abilities. I look forward to seeing more of you! I already had this one and like I said I'm big on other things, when I first got this I ran it thru my Behringer MS1 and the Behringer 2600, I've got Moog,Motif, and Kronos soon to have the Moog flagshipat least this weeks! Lol, it sounds especially well with Behringers however I expand the 2600 ocisilators to 5 and added this in several ways, thru the Amp on the MS1 and continued in midi to the 2600 and Wow! Ironically I have plenty of impressive drum machines, honestly the POs steal the show! I just got mini-tonic to make my own settings on the Tonic, keep in mind ,I cheat with the 33 the sub and the speak, I accidently order Two Arcades and a robot I have all of the POs and 1010 tangerine and black box to sample on. This Donner is a fantastic controllable osolater, paired up with the sub is an extremely fat bottom . Ty for the video? And I highly recommend everyone get on! Peace.
Hey Josh, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, currently I'm looking for more works, do you love to have a logo for your channel's branding to have a memorable graphic based monogram logo to help your audience recognise and follow your channel easier? I would love to design a music themed logo inspired by your direction for you! Let me know if you interested to make it happen! :-)
Yo what type of cables do i need to connect this into my interface??
Totally ruined the vibe with the random high notes at the end lol

Is it possible to make non 80s, non video game like and syntheave musics with it because most musics I listened made by it on TH-cam has sound from these I mentioned, I like these but don't want to make only these, and if the community of it is mainly filled with people from these genre you will feel not connected and able to find help that much, even if it's possible, is this M8 Tracker idea to make not these genre of musics? I like it's small and the graphic but OP-1 feel like it's actual mechanical while M8 is just keyboard with screen so you still feel like you are using a computer? Should I just use iPhone with some apps if music making for now it's just hobby for me
