  • I have had the McLaren 720S since July this year. It hasn't been without its difficulties but I hope you will see that I well and truly love this thing. From the performance aspect of its mind-bending 710PS to the ability to drive such an incredible car every day - plus it actually is pretty practical.
    Can you really daily drive the McLaren 720S Supercar? The answer is absolutely yes.
    McLaren’s performance is breathtaking, and the 720S is proof of that. A 710-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 drives monster of a machine.
    I have to say I love this McLaren but its been a hard battle. Dont forget to Like and Subscribe, in the next video I will go into slightly more detail of some of the issues I have experienced with this quite frankly the best supercar in 2018!

    wasn't really a big fan of the 720 until i went to a car show near Amsterdam and i saw a stealth memphis red 720s luxury pack and i fell in love. mclaren has a thing where you need to see it in person to truely appreciate it, even the "mundane" 12c looks good in person.

    For prospective owners - given the title of your video - it would have been nice to reduce the "I love it" and driving aspects, and focus more on the issues you've experienced. As you state, we've all see the "Wow... it's great" test drives. What went wrong? How long did it take to fix? How many days has it been at McLaren, out of the 120 days you've (apparently) had the car? How many miles between breakdowns? Would you have confidence choosing the McLaren to drive from London to Geneva, tour around a bit and drive it back, without having to get someone to bring the S63 Coupe to swap, half way through your trip? These are the types of videos few (if any) seem to make. If one has £250k to blow on a car, these are the questions one wants answering.

      Thank you. I appreciate your feedback. I am very conscious in putting a negative video out there and wanted to set the standard before I make comments about anything you have mentioned. More than happy to answer questions in DMs and maybe this should be my next video.

      I completely understand your reticence. It's simply that (again, based on the title) I expected the video to detail the 'ownership experience'. My apologies, if I misunderstood 'Daily Driving'. I'm desperate to hear about the reality. I keep hearing this McLaren is the "Best daily driver" supercar and can double as a GT, too. However, to me, a "GT" can go on 'Grand Tours'. I'm beginning to get the sense that this car is great for going to Waitrose - maybe relatively short weekend trips - but you'd better take another car, if you plan on driving a couple of thousand miles in a week or two. This being so, it kinda misses the mark, for me, and what I want from a GT car. Of course, we can all name better GT cars; but, it would be nice to be able to use this for long trips. The sacrifice of some comfort seems fair, in exchange for the experience and, let's face it, sheer beauty of the thing. Moreover, there are times when one wishes a 'wow factor', too. Unfortunately, I'll put up with many things, except unreliability, with the inconvenience, stress and anxiety, which comes with that. I look forward to the day when you may touch on these issues.

      @@AnthonyKellett Rolls Royces and Bentleys are for touring, not sports cars born from the track that are pushed to a high tune producing monumental amounts of power. Heck people even say the Nissan Gtr has too much boost for touring.

      That said however, I would totally take a spider variant for touring 👀

      All I can tell you is; they are when they work. My 570s did 18k miles in a year and it was perfect. I’ve clearly had a bad 720. But hope the spider is better and I’ll do 18k in that!!

      I will try. A lot of times the venues don’t allow you to film the actual track experience or at least the cameras have to be bolted rather than the standard go pro mounts.

    I was struggling with performance or appearance, 720s or Ferrari 458/488.
    Had to settle for buying a Ferrari 458 and aftermarket pieces. Above average performance, divine exhaust note and good exterior design.
    I love the performance of the 720s but I'll never use its full potential on public roads.

    • @goodreason6462
      @goodreason6462 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm caught between the two. I love the exhaust note of the 458. If the 720s had good exhaust note like Ferrari or Lamborghini than it would be much easier picking the McLaren.

    Quite interesting post. But if people are hating this car base on reliability and this it a track oriented weapon, do you feel confident that this car can withstand 15 - 20 mega laps around a track? I think we love Mac's because the BMP to £ ratio is just second to done

    • @MoreThanCars
      @MoreThanCars  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t say the 720s is orientated at track. The LT versions are. But yes I’d be confident doing laps. (Depending on the wind direction 😜)
