Well, the reference to Exit stage left is incorrect because the clip is from the Show of hands video and the solos are somewhat different. Yes it is in YYZ but not the same one and not as good as the Exit stage left version. When he started adding electronics it seemed a little more gimmicky as well.

I completely agree with this. The "Exit Stage Left" solo in YYZ, for me, is both his most technically challenging (the single-stroke rolls back and forth on the concert toms and timbales, and the double bass work/high-hat foot work), and the most lyrical. And the fact that he keeps the tempo for the song, ending his solo in the resumption of the music, is simply genius! And I'm with you on the addition of the fake big band stuff - it's OK, I guess, but seems out of place. That said, check out his solo with the Buddy Rich Big Band - no fake big band there!

love them all! if i had to pick just one it would be "The Rhythm Method" solo and "YYZ" a close second

Yessss! I saw and hear it in Frankfurt at the Hold Your Fire Tour!
It has unbelievable power and the fans cried louder than the fans of the Beatles!
