Thanks for watching, your support has helped me to visit so many wild places and to see some of the brilliant wildlife the UK has to offer. I always learn something new when im making these videos and in this one I learnt a lot! If you would like to support the channel (and me) even further, you can do so over on patreon- www.patreon.com/ashotofwildllife All the best, Liam
I had to have a little laugh at your video the other day when you were on about all the Carnivores of this Country, what you lacked to tell the people who were watching, that we now have larger Carnivores roaming across our land from Scotland right down to Cornwall, you should be fully aware of what people have seen, Even on Countryfile
A wealth of small British wild birds at the start there gives us a bit of hope! What a beautiful part of the world to visit! So glad you eventually tracked down your water voles; they are vulnerable and too rare by half. As enchanting as it is informative, this lovely film is one to revisit, a real delight. All the best to your family! Nice one Liam. 🌟👍
That was a thoroughly enjoyable day out, watching all the beautiful wildlife with your so knowledgeable commentary and brilliant filming. Love to you and your family and thank you❤️👩🏼
Liam, you should check out Martlesham Creek sometime - seen kingfishers there every time, lots of deer 🦌 godwits, gadwal, etc. Fantastic nature spot never fails to deliver. I live nearby so if you want I can drop you a line and show you round (although you'll probably be fine on your own 😉)
Thanks I often watch your videos and really appreciate them teaching us and giving us good places to go and find some wildlife for ourselves. Thanks again 👍 P.s that cake looked lovely 😋
Thank you for going out of your way to get as much as possible in this video. Just back from a mini break in Sheffield, and ticked off a lifetime sighting, a kingfisher with fish in beak. Didn't hang around long enough to take a pic though. So I really appreciate what you get. Love to Mrs and ankle biter xxx
Thanks Liam for another lovely uplifting video, especially as where I live it's getting colder and wetter so most of the wildlife is getting harder to see. Have a wonderful Week and PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
What a wonderful day. Thank you for showing Weselton heath. Years ago, I was on the team managing the Sandling project. I have such fond memories of the place. Adders and antlions. There are so many magical places along that costal strip.
I love the water vole's grabby little claw hands. And I think your green woodpecker was a juvenile, it seemed slightly drabber, still waiting for his moult I reckon.
Well done Liam, great your getting back out at the reserves and seeing so much wildlife… also gives us a break from the testing quizzes you’ve been sending out lately ! Enjoyed very much 😁👍
Super production. I did visit Minsmere in July with my son but didn’t see much even though on a guided tour. It’s knowing the best times of year I guess. So glad you can show me this as I couldn’t do the miles required now, so thank you!
Cheers mate. I think summertime is probably the worst time to visit unfortunately, I plan on going back in the middle of spring to hopefully see lots of chicks and fledglings.
Great video Liam. By the way, the Common Sandpiper at 7:28 is actually a Green Sandpiper because it has a darker back and lacks the diagnostic white 'shoulder' which Common Sandpipers have.
Nice one Liam. You had a very good day on the whole. Glad you succeeded at the second attempt for the Water Voles and Red Deer. Made yourself available to luck, eh? 👍🤓👍
I certainly did Sir Graham! It was a great day, did you notice a tiny fraction of Fred in the background of one of the shots, he joined me for the trip.
@@AShotOfWildlife Yes I did. Odd been wondering who had been shooting the following / tracking footage of you, so when I caught a brief glimpse of someone behind you I rewound and paused the video and identified your assistant! 😆👍
Your videos are brilliant, they really take my attention away from of all the bad things that are happening in the world. Thank you, keep them coming, love from leeds x
What an amazing place Minsmere is. This video is full of beautiful wildlife, so much to see. Wonderful footage of the red deer. Thank you for a beautiful day out. Take care and thank you for bringing some beautiful British wildlife to us. ❤
That was certainly a wildlife filled day, you lucky person! My favourite creatures were the vole, the shovelers, and the snipe. What great reserves you have over that way with beautifully built hides. Thank you for allowing us to follow you.
Thank you for such an enjoyable video , your hard work is much appreciated as I can’t get out much to take me to places I can’t often visit .. really must watch your videos more often .😊Have you visited Carlton Marshes & Strumpshaw . 😊
Thank you. Yes, I have visited both places and there are videos on the channel, I'm on my phone at the moment but if you can't find them, reply to thos and I'll post the links later on today
As always, a very enjoyable video. I love Minsmere too, so this was a doble pleasure. I didn't get to see the water voles during my last visits during October, though I did see the feeding platform. At around the 7 minute mark, the bird is a green sandpiper, not a 'common sandpiper'. There was also a hide that you didn't visit, The Canopy Hide. More of a climb than the Bittern Hide and sometimes not worth that climb unless plenty of time in hand to sit patiently for a while to see much. I like the Gadwall too, the vermiculation's on the drake at close quarters are beautiful. What camera do you use for capturing all the wildlife you encounter? Keep up the good work! A BIG thumbs up Liam!
Great video - There's always good stuff to see at Minsmere. And I think you are spot on with your Shrimp ID, its mostly likely the species you said as that has the highest freshwater tolerance (although there is a 2nd species too it could be but less likely). Interestingly they are often found in rockpools too, resilient little crustaceans
Well done Liam another great video and a fantastic location,I have never seen water voles at Minsmere but will visit again soon.looking forward to it.😃
Very interesting willow emerald damselfly- never seen one and curious that they are around in the cold still! Great water vole clip, not sure I've ever seen one, they are more hamster like in appearance than I thought. Im staggered how you can spot something so small as that "10p coin" toad! Love seeing red deer, our most attractive native deer. Great footage as always. I'm impressed at the birdlife you saw at this time of year, Minsmere definately looks worth a trip when I get a chance.
Love yr vids,I'm in the Northeast was down your way in Lowestoft last month.Couldnt believe the amount of Muntjac Deer I spotted. We don't them our way.😊
Cracking bro! Literally just bleddy left there! lol 😂 ratted down with rain the day I was going to go 🤦 one of my favourite uk birds the Dartford warbler! And the bearded 😮 Gotta go back in January for a winter wander! Looked a fab day! Pop over when you can we can check Rainham out ❤ love to you and the family 😊
Good lady and bumped into you once at Titchwell Marsh. You were very pleasant and helpful a true gentleman. We looked at your camera and subsequently bought one. You seem a lot better at using and keeping focus than us! Would a little video showing how you use your gear be interesting to others too, you make such entertaining and informative videos. Keep up the great channel
Another great video. We visited Minsmere back in September but did not see as much wildlife as you. We managed get some photos of a Kestrel in a similar tree to you. Thanks.
Hopefully ? Nahhh , definitely I'd say. As usual, a really great vlog. Only been to Minsmere once and it was closing when I got there. Here's to the next time.
I work over on the West coast at WWT Slimbridge. You should head over here sometime as we currently have thousands of birds around with more arriving daily. December/Jan is your best bet :).
Went to Minsmere beginning of October. Have you been in the Canopy hide? Great place! Also what is your set up please? I need to get a decent camera and tripod 🙂
Thanks for that, great vid but you must be getting better weather than we do here in Notts, lad. Wearing just a T stomping round where the wind is often the keenest, well' more power to your elbow. Thanks again.
Good morning I have something to share with you. I live on top of the north downs about 350 feet above sea level. My wife and I got up the other morning to find a water rail walking around the edge of our small pond. It stayed in our small garden for three days much to our delight I have some photos and a short film taken from our living room window if you would like to see them how do I get in touch.
How do you avoid dogs and dog walkers or do you just edit it out. I can't go anywhere without at least one dog charging me, it's horrible and geniunely ruins my passion for the outdoors. I was almost attacked by two pitbull looking dogs until the owner called them back about 100 yards away.
Thanks for watching, your support has helped me to visit so many wild places and to see some of the brilliant wildlife the UK has to offer. I always learn something new when im making these videos and in this one I learnt a lot!

Liam - it's not just what you see - it's the genuine excitement in your voice. I love it. That stag brawl it's on its way to you. 😊

I really enjoy all your posts Liam. The diversity of content is amazing.
You deserve your own show on TV.
Hope your family are well

As a person who cannot walk as much as I used to, your videos are a nice escape to the country for me.
Thank you for the wonderful pictures

So many species that I've never seen in the flesh, and which we don't have in my area.
Thank you! It was a brilliant day and I'm glad I got to share it with you.
Great video and thanks for another fantastic day out! Hopefully we'll see stags fighting next time 🌳🦌🦆

Wow , you managed to capture an array of little beauties there, and with such good light conditions ! Great viewing for a Sunday morning, thank you.❤

Incredible footage with fantastic information

What a great day Liam, a proper 11 out of 10.
Brilliant. Nice video Liam.
Thank you!
The water vole were lovely
Weren't they just! Brilliant to see and film

I'm a newbie bird watcher and you're videos have been very informative and helpful!
Thanks mate :)
I'm very glad you include the Latin name's too!
Makes it easier for a non-native English speaker :)
Thank you. The Latin names is a fairly recent addition so I'm glad that's useful. Cheers
Another great video!
Thank you!

A lovely look at what must be the most diverse range of habitats in the UK. This brings back very fond memories for me.
Wow thanks for fulming for us lee. So many animals i have never seen in person, what a lucky day

Really enjoyable vid Liam. As always.
One thing I'd be interested in is a run through of the photographic equipment that you use.😊
Thank you. My main camera is a Nikon P950, it's great for close ups, but also has a great zoom. Also, its pretty cheap compared to a lot of cameras.
@AShotOfWildlife yes a good choice,I have the p1000 for great shots of the moon aswell.
Did you Frog march the Toad off of the path?
Ohhhh, an amphibian pun on a Sunday morning! 10 out of 10
