I hope drivers like you coming to Indycar will help more global fans see how awesome indycar is. But unfortunately you can barely tell what’s going on because of NBC and their endless commercials.
Every lap is different as the tires warm up and then there’s the constant steering inputs to make the chassis stay aimed in the right direction. And all being done with no other cars on the track. Race day must be a real mental and physical work out. Mr. Groshans you da man. 😁👍
Most of the road course tracks here have little room for error. Do you enjoy that or does it bother you? I hope you choose to stay here with us, I love watching you in Indycar.
What a ride. As a regular guy who will likely never drive an Indycar ever, this really gives you a taste. Couple that with the karting I've done in the past and I can just start to imagine the physicality. The car control is really just so impressive from all you guys. There is a reason why you're a pro's pro! I still find the structural support for the Aeroscreen/Halo distracting but that probably shows I'm just not looking where i should be. :-)
The first “race” I saw at Mid-Ohio was the 1967 Can-Am. We pulled in I could see the top wing of a Jim Hall Chapparall going around Keyhole and the rest was history. Always was good racing and a fun track. Jim Truman made it fan friendly. Always enjoyed Mark Donahue and Bobby Rahal because they were so fluid on the track. But the 917/30K just was a beast. Good times!

Cant wait to hear your thoughts on this circuit and how it compares to some of the F1 circuits you've raced on. This is one of my favorite places to flag when I'm able to travel. I noticed you change lines every lap in the carousel turn. I remember that feeling a little strange how late you have to apex it. In addition to feeling like your coming in way to wide. At least that’s why the vintage Trans Am cars need. To set up a good straightaway run!!
