@@dowon_btw to be able to do what you want literally means that other people shouldn't have an opinion about it. We are not talking about going naked to a wedding or shopping downtown (even not in germany). We are talking about designated places like a nudist beaches or saunas. And being naked is nothing sexual. It's you sexualising it! The funny think is, that US folks is fucking around far more than it is common in germany, but if it is about going to sauna or beaches the same guy with the full tinder calendar turns into a prude moralizer.
In Germany, nude beaches are very much a "wholesome" kinda deal and not as scandalous/borderline-sexual as I feel like they are in the US. You'll find a lot of families there, kids and adults of all ages (remember - most families in Germany are totally used to seeing their family members naked!). However, I have noticed that there are some groups of people you won't find on FKK beaches as often: 1) teenagers, as they're often a bit self-conscious about their growing bodies and prefer to bathe clothed 2) migrant families from cultures with differing attitudes around nudity
the frivolous areas are most often a bit more secluded, but at these lakes there is always a part (be it a bit in the woods) where the 'fun' is takin place, be it just gay cruising or bisexual stuff 🙈 ... so if u go too deep into exploring u might stumble upon them xD
In the former GDR, nudity is even more common than in the West. When my favorite public bath was renovated after reunification, individual changing cabins were added. However, many people still change in front of the lockers in the corridor because it's just more practical.
That's what I was used to growing up in Munich, too back in the 80ies. During the 90ies people became more and more prudish and started also shaving in more and more places....
Nah, not from my experience. As long as you respect the nude people, they respect people with clothes too. Not saying there are militant nude areas, but I've never encountered one so far.
FKK is a pretty old-fashioned word which was created in the 1880s as part of a movement "back to nature" being a reaction to the unhealthy living conditions in the overcrowded cities. As a student I worked part-time as a pool attendant in the town's public in-door pool. Thursday evening was FKK time and everybody in our small team wanted to do this shift. There is little less erotic than naked people in their 50s and 60s. After half an hour you even forget that they do not wear clothes. It's a bit difficult to be aggressive, if you are naked, so it was always a very calm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Many visitors knew each other for years, united by their enthusiasm for nude swimming. I can't remember a single incident where I had to intervene on a FKK-Thursday. And it's very egalitarian. It doesn't matter whether you work as a truck driver or a bank director. On an FKK-evening we were all the same as God (or beer) created us.
@@roesi1985 😇😍 There is a nice story about doing business negotiations in Finland. When the parties can't find a common position the move to the (nudist) sauna. When they still do not reach a compromise, they put up the temperature. 🤪 I don't know whether this reflects reality or is just a funny story. But I like the idea.
Ryan she said "we're not going there, we're going further". Not only would filming without consent be a massive no-no, but TH-cam would block it anyway 😂
I find it so sad that so many people in the US cannot develop a natural relationship with their (and other people's) bodies just because they were taught to be ashamed of it as children. Unfortunately, shame is also spreading in Europe because everyone is told that they can only be naked if they have a "perfect" body
I don't know if anyone mentioned it as I didn't read all the comments, but in Germany it is not unusual to just change into your bathing suit, or out of it, on a regular beach. You can't be nude, but you are allowed to change on the beach. That would get you arrested over here.
02:14 It's kinda funny. "Der See" mean "the lake" while "Die See" translates to "The sea". Shows how important it is to know the proper gender of words.
Actually, there is a public FKK area in a park in Munich, in the city center along a little river called Eisbach. I used to sunbathed there when I lived in the neighborhood. Used to be a tourist attraction, Tourist groups from Japan and the USA regularly rode by on their bicycle city tours to see the inner city nudist sunbathers. LOL. Honestly, I couldn't care less if strangers see me naked. Anyone who manages to remove body parts by looking at them may keep them.
America, the land, where you can shoot each other but bathing or going to the beach without clothes is a big no go 😂 Some times a bit weird tbh and I'm aware that there are weird things here in Germany as well (like driving 300km/h or more on the Autobahn) but although I don't do FKK myself I feel like this is completely ok being natural (aka. naked) in Nature 😂
Nudity is less of a thing over here. The English garden, right in the heart of Munich, is a renound nudist spot. Also you will find people practicing fkk literally anywhere. Nude in sauna is obligatory. Public saunas often attached to swimming pools, can be quite extensive… and everyone is nude
German here. I always used to be at an FKK beach with my parents. When my girlfriend - now wife - went on holiday with us we did just that. I also like swimming naked. It feels great. Try it. It's completely ok to wear warm clothes at an FKK beach. The north sea beaches tend to be cold at times. You are not allowed to wear swim wear, though. When I was young we also went white water canoeing. Whenever you arrive at the destination you have to switch to dry clothes. It's common among canoers to not make a big deal out of switching clothes in public. I like going to public saunas. In most of them you are not allowed to wear swim wear. Some ppl wrap in towels. I think sexualizing being naked is a bad thing.
I growned up at a FKK beach. From my mother I learned that we all look the same when we are naked. Now I'm so grateful to have a healthy relationship to my body
Hello Ryan, as some others already pointed out FKK is more common in the former GDR. I recently visited a outdoor pool area in bavaria. Right next to the baby pool area was a sign stating, that even small kids have to wear swim trunks. I have never seen a sign like this in east germany.
When i turned 18 i was celebrating my birthday at this spa/wellness center which had this huge sauna area with many different saunas and stuff. I can tell you that …. the first time having to be completely naked around strangers is a very weird feeling but soon you realize that literally everybody there is naked and nobody gives a shit about you or may look at you weirdly or anything like that so that bad feeling goes away quickly and you start to not really care about it anymore either.

In my teenage days, we climbing over the fence at the waterpark in summer nights and we bathed naked. That was a good time, just feeling free with my age and my body 😊
Same here, we climbed over the revolving exit door (it has metal bars, easy to climb). Though sometimes we planned it with people we didn't know that well and wore our swimming suits beneath our clothes before ;)
Back when I was at school in England, the school swimming pool in my boys' prep was strictly no clothing allowed. My first couple of concert tours to the US we swam in the local YMCA pools in NY, Chicago, and (I think) Toronto. These were no swimwear pools too. This only changed around 1963.
I recommend to experience the FKK beaches at lakes or the sea in Germany yourself. There is basically no real "HAVE TO be naked" and "forbidden to wear any clothes" attitude. It is rather a "respect that you are at a nudist beach, so be as naked as you feel comfortable with" and a "don't disturb the fellow naked people" and a "just behave well, in general" attitude. The majority is naked, yes, as it's their most comfortable way of spending time at the beach or in the water. But there can be woman (especially from abroad) wearing a thong or bikini bottoms and "only" being topless, there can be families where two or three family members are wearing beach wear/swim wear, the rest of them naked, there can be couples of 1 naked person and 1 covered person, there can be people laying on their blankets covering their bodies with a towel to protect it from the sun, there can be babies with swim nappies, and all sorts of things. There can be people with a T-shirt on, but no pants/trunks, if it's windy. People can wear shoes or flip-flops at rocky FKK beaches. People can wear sun glasses and hats or be wrapped in a towel. You will understand this once you have spent a few days there at different days, in different weather, different seasons, with different people and different times of day. And at different FKK beaches. Ryan, you should come here to Germany. And leave your swimwear at home. 😀
Hi Ryan. Yes, your clothes will be all off when you come to Europe, but most Americans are not bothered with beaches - they want to explore castles and historic houses, afternoon tea in country cottage cafés and thatched pubs. So, I dont think there's much point for Americans to go to the beach unless it's for chatting and getting to know the locals. There will usually be a picnic basket with wine, etc. I don't know if it's the same style as back home in the US, but most Americans want to see things that don't exist back home.
Its the British use of the word holiday - mainly descibing what you call vacation in the US. Like "I was on holiday in Spain this year.", or " We spend our holiday in the mountains." It is also used for public holidays, though.
6:33 Yeah, because she didn't actually enter the FKK area because you're obviously not allowed to just film there. But if you want see people in a FKK area (through pixilated) watch Conan O'Brien's Berlin special. In it he goes to a FKK beach with Fula Borg.
Ryan, there are FKK Camp sites e. g. in croatia like kanegra or in france. There you can spend your whole vacation time textilfrei; shopping or biking included.
Oh, in France it's everywhere - whether it's what you call a "normal" beach, or whatever. (I know from experience). The only reservation is - not at town centre beaches.
nope, she speaks "schwaebisch" a accent from south german, far away from eastern germany and eastern german accent is totally diffrent to "schwaebisch" 🎉
You definitevely missed something. When you like swimming per se, you'll love to skinny dip. The cool water flowing along your gentleman sausage is one of the most pleasurable experiences in live, for me personally.
I live in northern germany and on hot summer days, i usually go to a FKK area of a lake close to my job before i start my working day. Within half an hour there are like 5-20 people there taking a short swim (or a long). The best part nobody cares if there is someone with cloth or without.
As I was born in east germany - nudity was actually normal at beaches - no matter whether FKK or not. No one struggled with this. But it changed during the last years a lot.
For several decades now, we have been experiencing a creeping Americanization of our culture. Of course, this does not stop at our attitude to nudity. While this can be seen as an enrichment in some areas, I find it a shame and worrying in others - why is it becoming increasingly difficult for people to separate nudity from sexuality?
Yeah I mean it is often a cultural clash - it is hard to find a suitable intersection in terms of moral standards if so many people from different countries come together. Here in Berlin for instance some spas allow now clothes in saunas which was unthinkable a few years ago. But in the end this comes in waves. The US was also much more open minded during the 70s and 80s in terms of nudity (actually there was also a short period in the 20s which was more unrestricted in some areas). Now it became more conservative again. And this will end as well.
@@korbendallasmultipass1524 That's right. In our country, the many cultural backgrounds of our fellow human beings really do pose a problem when it comes to our view of nudity. In the USA, on the other hand, I see Christian morals as the driving force. Hopefully the trend will reverse. At the moment, I still see this development in full swing, towards even more prudery and restrictions. I very much hope that we will not experience this extent in Germany. There is something very egalitarian and honest about nudity. Nowhere else in our society are people as free and at eye level as in the sauna or on a nudist beach. I'm not an outspoken nudist, but I do enjoy being around people in this way from time to time, where there are no status symbols and hierarchies.
@@timpie9346I'm Austrian and FKK isn't as big here as it is in Germany and I'm not an FKK beachgoer. BUT: what I really like about our culture os that of you just change clothes at a beach, nobody makes a fuss if you just do it in a normal way. Like, yeah, it might be possible that someone got to glimpse a bit of your butt for a second but it's not seen as a big deal when there's an FKK beach 100m further anyway. So, even if you don't do FKK yourself, you profit from this relaxed attitude. I really don't want to live in a culture where changing at a beach would cause an uproar because everyone thinks nakedness = sexuality.
Austria here. Sometimes people just change on the beach of a lake (no sea in Austria) or in mixed locker rooms without going to a stall. Nobody cares. Sometimes women go topless on beaches, but that became somewhat rare compared to the 80s and 90s. Last year I visited a "Thermenhotel" here in Austria for a short vacation. Basically a hotel with pools and spa offerings and so on. There was an indoor area for textile and one for nude. Then there was an outside area with a pool for textile, a pool for mixed textile and nude users and a hot water pool for nude usage only (connected to the saunas), the latter pool somewhat visible from the other pools. When I traveled to Florida in spring this year, I got a warning in my travel documents from the traveling agency, to not go naked on the beaches at all, not even my little children (in case I would have little children) and not even for a short time and for women also to not go topless.
I grew up in East Germany where it was pretty normal to go to an FKK beach. All my friends went together and my family always went to FKK beaches. Sauna is always nude in Germany and usually mixed, they might have a certain day for a specific gender
You'd be surprised, but even in big cities like Munich there are lots of nude beaches or even just nude areas. There's a small area in the "English Garden", which is the biggest park in Munich in the smack center of the inner city. But this area is reserved for nudists and is not hidden at all. Also there are public swimming pools or certain bathing areas at the river "Isar", where you can do FKK. Those are very popular in summer.
It was even more popular and widespread in the DDR (the former eastern part of Germany, where the people were surrounded by "The Wall") - some of the few freedoms people there were allowed to have or (that's what I always guessed) to have the illusion that they were free in one way or another..... Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 🤗
Was at a German beach today, even at the non FKK part were people totally nude or changing their clothes without hiding anything. There is nothing sexual about it. We were born nude, so it is being in a natural state.
What I find very funny is that here is a nude area in the english garden in Munich, just at the entrance (on the left side of the river, inside the horse trail). So it is just there, where all visitors from around the world enter the english garden and they are welcomed by some old naked people.
In Frankfurt/Main was an infamous man, "der nackte Jörg" (the nude Jörg), who was walking around naked. Iirc he was claiming to be allergic the clothing.
In my country, The Netherlands, there are 80 nudistbeaches . My country is one of the few countries where nudist recreation is properly regulated by law. This law was established in 1986 partly on the initiative of NFN Open & Bloot. You are allowed to expose yourself on the beaches provided for this purpose, usually by a municipal council. are designated (officially designated nudist beaches) and beaches that are “suitable” for this purpose (non-designated nudist beaches). You can read what requirements a beach must meet to be suitable for nude recreation under Nude recreation and the law. The designated beaches are often indicated on signs on the beach and/or signs at the beach entrance. There is almost never a sign at the non-designated beaches. You can recognize both beaches by the other naked sun worshipers here.
There are also nudist camp grounds in germany. I feel like mainly old people do fkk. They also ride the bike naked and everything. It seemed very funny to me when I was a kid.
This is a difference between English dialects. Trevor Noah actually had this in one of his stand up programs that the first time he went to the US, they asked him what the purpose of his visit was and he said "holidays" and the border guard didn't understand because they use the word vacation in the US. Holidays is British English and also used in SA, idk what the Aussies and NZers use.
i was in croatia with my mom and her husband 3 times. there is a FKK campsite that is reallllly awesome! you _have_ to be naked at the beach and you have to wear clothes if you go to the supermarket or restaurants. rest of the campsite is free choice. they even have the only european fkk harbour iirc :)
In German Sauna it is forbidden to wear textiles in the sauna itself. You have to be naked as it is deemed unhygienic and unsafe to wear bikinis or swimming trunks in there. Often have seen very puzzled tourists from UK and US visiting the spa I go for sauna on a weekly being asked by the staff to get undressed or leave the sauna.
I visited my Swedish girlfriend's family, over in the suburbs of Stockholm, and later in the week they suggested using the sauna, my girlfriend warned me I would have to be naked, but what shocked me was the whole family was in their naked! This was the Mother and Father, their 14-year-old Daughter, and 9-year-old Son, with me and my girlfriend. As a Brit, I didn't know where to look!
in Berlin we have maybe 15 nudists beaches. 8 in official areas. In Germany is allow to be naked if it's not official beach. in Berlin is also is allow to swim topless for girls at the cities swimpools. Also near Brandenburger Gates in Tiergarten is nudist area, near Seegessäule. Tourists are always schocked when see naked people at the center of Berlin :)
Here In Austria you some times find Nudeln or Topless people, Even in the Parks. Along the Danube there are Kilometers of FKK Zones. Nearly every Swimming Lake has at least one FKK Zone.
We were at a lake with our dog just yesterday. There were both "Nakedeis" and people in swimwear walking around or sunbathing, of all ages. Completely normal. Nudity is not immediately sexualized, as is often the case in the USA. If I had taken our dog's collar off, he could have bathed naked also :)
Yeah I lived in Munich and it is common in the summer for middle-aged business men on their lunch break from work to grab a beer and get naked in the park.
Spent my entire youth going to naked campsites and i can recommend. Especially with kids its really easy, no laundry 😅 and also with the swimming, just hop in the (open) showers and in the pool. No wet swimwear or awkward changing on the beach and stuff, and no tan lines
Nude culture emerged in Germany as early as the 1920s. In East Germany, naked culture was an escape from the socialist system. What does an officer or police officer look like on the naked beach? Naked like everyone else. There were officially no porn films for sale in East Germany. But some were able to get their hands on a Super 8 camera. Why not write your own script and make this film yourself with your neighbors? All you need is natural talent. Company bosses from the West always came to the trade fair in Leipzig in the east. The political leadership ensured that no man was left without a female companion. Although the rooms had microphones, the people wearing headphones next door were said to have gotten bored at night. Always the same noises and no news from the West.
I'm born and raised in Germany at the coastal region and we have the "real" beaches with FKK sections and yes, you are expected to be naked otherwise you most certainly will get comments or have to argue with others about you being not naked. Except maybe when you're just walking ashore through the area and are not planing on chilling there. I've always avoided the nude sections of the beach mostly because I've lived on the island (Sylt) and also went to school there and....well, I think that explains it..😅 furthermore I'm not the kind of person who is overly comfortable with nudity...😅
Oh god the teenage horror on that island. I imagine all the adults that moved there and then take their kids to FKK beaches just to meet their classmates xD Glad my parents always went camping. Berlin elders are a whole different kind of people regarding public nudity and I grew up knowing this is just normal. But besides my family no one knew me. If anyone there would have been from school, I would have probably been uncomfortable too.
For the case you ever drive a bus in Berlin, don't be surprised to see naked People. I drove one near the Victory Collum, watched was outside out of boredom. Just to see a meadow full of naked People. May sounds awesome, but they where mostly old People.

People complained, although there was not a real fence or wall, only a sign, and I was only 2 meters behind that sign. Yesterday i was in düsseldorf, where is the unterbacher see with an huge area for nudity. You can play football, tabletennis and volleyball naked. Being there with around 300 people from young to old is one of the best feelings you can imagine, because there you unterstand and feel what it is supossed to be human, even if you are skinny, fat, or whatever. :)
I love the Unterbacher See. I'll go back there soon when the weather gets hot again. I've never been to the nude beach, though, but now, I'm seriously thinking about it. I used to always be naked at a lake in the Netherlands on vacation as a kid. I'd like to experience that feeling again.

And when will we see you at the nudist beach in Senftenberger See? You fly to Berlin and drive about 120 km south on the A13 Autobahn. You can experience your favorite topic live on the Autobahn without speed limits. There are also US tourists who fly to Germany just to drive 250 km/h on the Autobahn.
Saunas are also naked in other countries. There is a good reason for that: nothing wet, not your bathing suit nor your skin are supposed to touch the wood as it may get moldy or just destroy the wood over time. Saunas are Finnish btw, they obviously also use them naked. The Us has this whole porn industry business but normal nudity is a no go. I will never understand this paradoxon.
FKK means freie Körperkultur. Directly translated it is free body culture. It means you have to be naked on this part of the beach. It has a long tradition in Germany! You can go to beaches were people wear beach clothes. And on this beaches you will never see naked people. it is a way of life and has nothing disreputable.
Don't walk around any place with sun and/or water access in Munich if you don't want to see nude people! Most look like a handbags (tanwise") but you will see them! Englischer Garten and the Isar river have several FKK areas and those places are a super short walk or directly adjacent to normal city life. In 99% of cases that is not an issue at all. Unless you meet the dude with about 50 rings and piercings on his sausage. In fact there is very little skin showing but unfortunately I have met him already XD

I dont do the naked stuff hwrw in Denmark even though i could, but when i was a teen in the 80's i always got ready for my regular summer trip to England by going to a beach that had dunes, i loked to go to the tanning places for 2 weeks and then go to the dunes and hide away up there. Get a great tan going and then be ready for going to England looking like a Wham album cover. The UK girls loved it. Had a whole bunch of girls around me in 85 talking away like they got paid for it. Went to see Dead or Alive in Liverpool that summer. I always stayed 3 weeks because there was so much to do.. Came home with 4 big bags of records over 2 years. Less then 1 minute later the brother of my wife threw the handy of this guy in the middle of the lake. He say he will call the police and he will sue him and so on. My wife called the police and the police take this guy with them because it was not the first time that he trying this. One of the policeman say this was a bit rude what he do with the handy but he total understand this and nothing happen to the brother of my wife. That why i love the police here in Berlin. In Germany, nude beaches are very much a "wholesome" kinda deal and not as scandalous/borderline-sexual as I feel like they are in the US. You'll find a lot of families there, kids and adults of all ages (remember - most families in Germany are totally used to seeing their family members naked!).
However, I have noticed that there are some groups of people you won't find on FKK beaches as often:
1) teenagers, as they're often a bit self-conscious about their growing bodies and prefer to bathe clothed
2) migrant families from cultures with differing attitudes around nudity

In the former GDR, nudity is even more common than in the West. When my favorite public bath was renovated after reunification, individual changing cabins were added. However, many people still change in front of the lockers in the corridor because it's just more practical.
That's what I was used to growing up in Munich, too back in the 80ies. During the 90ies people became more and more prudish and started also shaving in more and more places....

Nah, not from my experience. As long as you respect the nude people, they respect people with clothes too. Not saying there are militant nude areas, but I've never encountered one so far.
You literally do not have to. At least at the Baltic Sea
You don´t have to be naked, this would be a silly rule. Sometimes you just get a little bit cold and want to put on a shirt.
Ryan she didnt go on the fkk beach there are naked people there so it is forbid to film same as in public changing rooms. : )
it's not... just maybe rude to the nude. but not comparable to changing rooms.
A great comment. It's a bit difficult to be aggressive when you're naked - great insight! Maybe we should turn political debates into FKK events!

I find it so sad that so many people in the US cannot develop a natural relationship with their (and other people's) bodies just because they were taught to be ashamed of it as children. Unfortunately, shame is also spreading in Europe because everyone is told that they can only be naked if they have a "perfect" body
"nudist holidays": there are for example FKK camping sites (mostly next to a FKK beach) where people go on vacation and are naked the whole day.
swimming naked is something else, i love it, it just feels better without the sticky and tight textiles
But most important, 'wenn ich den See seh, brauch ich kein Meer mehr' - german saying
Das macht die Gewohnheit, die Macht der Gewohnheit ;-)
Actually, there is a public FKK area in a park in Munich, in the city center along a little river called Eisbach. I used to sunbathed there when I lived in the neighborhood. Used to be a tourist attraction, Tourist groups from Japan and the USA regularly rode by on their bicycle city tours to see the inner city nudist sunbathers. LOL. Nudity is less of a thing over here. The English garden, right in the heart of Munich, is a renound nudist spot. Also you will find people practicing fkk literally anywhere.

Hello Ryan, as some others already pointed out FKK is more common in the former GDR. I recently visited a outdoor pool area in bavaria. Right next to the baby pool area was a sign stating, that even small kids have to wear swim trunks. I have never seen a sign like this in east germany.

Same here, we climbed over the revolving exit door (it has metal bars, easy to climb). Though sometimes we planned it with people we didn't know that well and wore our swimming suits beneath our clothes before ;)

no its not we went to fkk too when i was a child and we didnt were naked, well my dad was but my mom didnt like it but really its your choice.
Hi Ryan.
Yes, your clothes will be all off when you come to Europe, but most Americans are not bothered with beaches - they want to explore castles and
historic houses, afternoon tea in country cottage cafés and thatched pubs.
So, I dont think there's much point for Americans to go to the beach unless it's for chatting and getting to know the locals.
There will usually be a picnic basket with wine, etc.
I don't know if it's the same style as back home in the US, but most Americans want to see things that don't exist back home.
FKK is short for "Frei Körper Kultur" - means naked. We have not only nude beaches at lakes, but also on several parts of beaches
Its the British use of the word holiday - mainly descibing what you call vacation in the US. Like "I was on holiday in Spain this year.", or " We spend our holiday in the mountains."
It is also used for public holidays, though.
Ther are some tricky Geran words ;) The Pine: "Die Kiefer". The Jaw "Der Kiefer". The Lake: "Der See", the Ocean: "Die See" :D

There you can spend your whole vacation time textilfrei; shopping or biking included.
by the way, in England vacation is called holiday - vacation is US english really. fair enough vacation is also known in Great Brtain and Ireland
Oh, in France it's everywhere - whether it's what you call a "normal" beach, or whatever.
(I know from experience).
The only reservation is - not at town centre beaches.
She has such a funny East German accent. 😅
nope, she speaks "schwaebisch" a accent from south german, far away from eastern germany and eastern german accent is totally diffrent to "schwaebisch" 🎉
Fkk is quite common throughout Germany. I don't think you ever have to drive more than 100km before you find a lake, beach or river where you can go.
HINT: the entire region "around Berlin" is SAND-BASED ... and we have LOADS of lakes and rivers ... with LOADS of beaches.
There are quite a large number of FKK beaches, at coastal and lake beaches, especially in the easterly parts of Germany.
@@timpie9346a D or Vulva ist einfach sexual no wayyy i wanna see that
@@timpie9346I'm Austrian and FKK isn't as big here as it is in Germany and I'm not an FKK beachgoer.

I've been to a beach in San Francisco that has a nudist section. Somebody told me that this part was federal land and therefore FKK was legal.

In Germany the word "Holiday" is used for vacation. Not one single day like in the US.

Fully nude is rare, but not unheared of, at least it used to be like that when I was a kid in the 90s. But at lakes it is actually pretty common. I know that there is a FKK area at the lake that is closest to me - Schwarzlsee, Styria.

I love to make Jokes about the FKK strand XD
As far as I know, it's not even forbidden to be naked in public in Germany. You only have to wear clothes if someone is bothered by the fact that you are naked.
But you can assume that there are some people in a large square in the city who are bothered by it.
"You can just go to the nudist beach without ..."
But that's the point. "You have to go to a nudist beach without ..."
He meant without having to become a member of some nudist club or something.
Like, you just show up and get naked, no prior registration or ID check or anything like that required.
@@TheFeldhamster Ahh, I figuered it was the puritanical way of an average American guy to avoid the phrase "without clothes", "clothing optional" or just to avoid saying "naked." Also I did a pun.
But thanks for the hint.
I got kicked out, because I refused to take off my swimming pants. I was with naked friends and wanted to be in the only shadow. People complained, although there was not a real fence or wall, only a sign, and I was only 2 meters behind that sign. So I had a loud discussion with the guard and asked him to call the police, if he wants me out. But my friends also turned against me, because I would be so prude. Finally we left.
@@gutsyjasmin4592 Usually in societys people judge other people very easily and often you don't even notice. A lot of sexualisation is spreaded and we see through the glasses of Ideals, but if you once experience the unterstanding and knowledge how kind people really are and how same there are on the same spot you get released from those ideals. Laying next to an old man and next to a young woman without thinking negative or ordinary is freedom and respect to each individuals.
Beeing on those places with other people helps me to focus on the essentials. Next month i am at the coast of the netherlands and there is a nudity area nearby, i hope there is good weather then :D I hope you can enjoy the unterbacher see the next time. :)
They are naked, believe me. They even have to. They didn't film them because of TH-cam and not wanting to be beaten up.
Things FKK that exist:
- FKK wandering tours
- FKK bicycle tours/demonstrations (world naked bike ride - wiki article NSFW)
I think Ryan is a little bit disappointed! 😉
Funny Story: In 8th grade I was with my schoolclass at the baltic sea (Ostsee) and I accidentally run into a nude beach trying to find my class because they left me alone because I had to use the toilet on our way to a normal beach. I will never forget the old man at the nude beach...😢
None of it is something i could find in Denmark. So always an amazing trip. Even if it rained you'd have a reward at the end..
I'm surrounded by FKK lakes where I live in Germany. And yes, Germans are typically naked in saunas here - and you get mixed ones, but I avoid those as I'm British 🇬🇧 🫣 🤣May I ask why you're interested in comparing Germany, as opposed to other European countries, to the US? Is it perhaps because it's in the middle of Europe? 🤔
There are some strict rules about the FKK. On FKK you are not allowed to take pictures and you need to always sit on a towel. Not sitting direct on a chair. And on restaurants also no naked
