Good overview! You say that windscreen reflections can be reduced by placing the camera higher or lower, or changing the angle? I am using this exact model and unfortunately this isn't my experience. It's even worse in Thailand where I live because there is often very bright sunshine and the reflections are quite noticeable. I have a CPL filter on order and once it is installed I will post the results on my TH-cam channel. I don't really want to add a CPL filter because it will reduce the light input by about one f stop, but something needs to be done about the reflections. Apart from that, I'm impressed with the camera and it has good features. The voice control works very well and it is a nice safety feature because I can take photos and record emergency videos without taking my hands off the steering wheel.
When you activate an emergency video you get an additional 30 seconds, therefore the maximum time of any one video is 1 minute 30 seconds. There are three ways you can activate an emergency video - press a button on the camera, use the voice control, or it will activate automatically in the event of a collision because the camera has a motion sensor.
The lane departure warning works, but when I am deliberately changing lane I do not need to be told. Also, when I am waiting in traffic I do not need to be told that the vehicle ahead is moving. Trying to test whether the forward collision warning is working is quite dangerous, so this is the only ADAS feature that I haven't tested. I use this camera and have now turned off the ADAS because it wasn't useful. I opted to buy the GPS module because I thought it would display latitude and longitude coordinates, but it doesn't. It is only there to enable ADAS and because I don't find ADAS useful I am now regretting buying it, even though it wasn't very expensive.
That screen protector thing looks like a reference template you are supposed to stick outside the windshield for correct placement. Have you translated the Chinese on that?
No, but may fall off during hard braking or speed bumps. Also of the magnet based Dashcams i've seen they tend to suffer vibration issues at certain speeds, ruining video quality.

I am not convinced... How does it compare to the Viofo A118C, and later Viofo models? They don't have these features, but the video quality appears to be superior... Especially A119 at nighttime.

I have same problem, on LightInTheBox was information that there are 2 languages - Simplified Chinese and English, BUT THERE IS CHINESE ONLY... I spend many days to find an English firmware but seems that is not available. If I check for firmware update in app, I get pop up "Your dash cam firmware is up to date". good product but the battery didnt last long at all, my battery died within a year and hard to find replacement battery anywhere,i have another old dashcam for 3 years the battery still works fine.
Regarding the flare, I'd recommend placing it beneath some kind of sun shade. Video productions use matte boxes. Photographers use lens hoods. Crazy that even dashcams do more than 1080p these days, and the low light quality looks decent as well!

"electronic dog" is probably illegal in many western country. With a GPS module, this product is able to detect speed and red light camera and inform you in advanced.
Niels Kersic It’s speed/red light camera radar detector, might be illegal in some countries and I know for a fact the pedestrian crossing radar/sensors will trigger most of the detectors from China as China uses different technology to determine people/movement.
I think the 'Electronic dog' features gives warnings of radar and speeding, but found a comment on one forum that it is only available in China. It needs the GPS module, which also enables the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System) features. This warns you of lane departure, movement of vehicle ahead when you are stationary and of possible vehicle collision. I bought the GPS module and have these ADAS features, but didn't find any of them useful.

The fact that it is difficult to take it out of the GPS mount before leaving my car makes it unusable for me. How can you design this camera to be left on the windshield all the time? What if you park on the street? They've broken into my car to steal a TomTom before, a backpack...even for a jacket. Now I can't mount this because I can't unmount it. Ridiculous.

Malik battery’s in general are hit and miss on Dash Cams for most people. Personally being from Ireland I’d prefer to have a LiPo battery in my dashcam because it doesn’t affect me either way if anything I’d like to have the off the wire power if need be. But arguments aside, mine is hardwired 99% of the time so youd be better off(safer) with a capacitor. Less likely to go pop in the scorching hot sun.

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA. it does not recognise SD cards, continously crashing or asking to format sd card. You pay extra for the GPS for lane assist but overall this function is usless, annoying and it will not show GPS position and speed on your recordings. Do not waste your money you won't be sure its working or just crashed.

IMX335 is a much worse cmos in terms of sensitivity comparing to IMX291 or IMX307.
