Love this. I've been war gaming for 3 decades and barely thought about doing a 2 or 2.5 D army, cheap, effective and flexible enough make it as you want. I'm inspired!
I always make my banners using aluminium foil .. they can be a little fiddly but they hand better than paper ones and can be formed to look more like scale cloth then you can with paper .. A tip I picked up years ago from a copy of White Dwarf Magazine :)

If you don't pour on enough flock, you'll feel your fingers touch the glue. If that happens scream in pain, then pour more flock on with your opposite hand while sucking on your burned fingers on the other.
I don't see anything as competition, or bad, or in opposition to what I do. I only want to help build a community of like minded people and people who enjoy crafting for what it is, an outlet for expressing yourself. I am cranky a lot, especially with people who are content with being ingnorant, but I try to turn it on its head and see where I can channel that into something constructive.

What are you searching for exactly when looking for this art style of printable units? Everything I'm finding is full crazy fantasy HD wallpaper styles instead of a more 2d stylization like you are using for the units.
Yes, sometimes I pull from those images. As long as the entire body is in the picture, you use the Lasso select tool to extract it. In the video, the orc conveniently has a solid color (white) all around him, so I could simply use the Magic Wand tool.

I would use your tape strengthening method on the banners before applying them to the toothpicks. They look too oddly flat as presented when compared to the cloth and such on the rest of the figure.

Unfortunately, no, that would be illegal. But you can use google image and your favorite image editor, as described in episode 009. A good free alternative to photoshop is GIMP.

All of my miniatures are taken from Google image search and are automatically copyrighted by their creators, even an independent artist. I present them here under Free Use for an educational purpose and in a different format (video vs image). To modify and redistribute an image even for free would violate copyright.
Very funny opening to the video it was amazing, I am wondering about Kings of War though i never heard of it. Does anyone know anything about it i plan to youtube but i'd like people's thoughts on it compared to Warmachine&Hordes/Warhammer fantasy/40K which are games i have a bit more knowledge on.

I am estimating that you could fit 21 to 24 standard human warriors on a page. Less for bigger figures or more flamboyant poses.
