    On the GameCube discs, you still did the right thing. If there's a chance you can get them running again, and into new owner's hands to appreciate them, it was worth a shot. I still lot up failed resurfacing jobs and make sure it's apparent in the title and description. I imagine the people who buy them just like having the physical disc, whether it works or not.
    And I agree with you about more products on the market can only mean lower prices. I didn't see any of that twitter conversation, but that other person likely doesn't know what they're talking about

      They just didn’t wanna listen to logic or reason. And I wasn’t speaking abusively at all. I was simply debating the point they tried to make because they were incorrect. There’s a lot of misinformation in the gaming space right now and a lot of it comes from creators much bigger than me. And that’s a real problem. Dude just got belligerent and blocked me because I guess that was easier than admitting he took the L. And it isn’t about wins or losses. It’s about understanding the hobby we’re supposed to be enjoying.

    Sorcerer on Atari, nice! I think I've only ever played GLOC on Game Gear but it seems solid enough if I recall.

    Mur don't give up on those discs. Run them through the JFJ like 5 or six times. What you do is take those blank disc plastic pieces from a burnable cd tower (hope you know what I mean) and put that on first then the disc. You don't need expensive adapters and all that. What I do need though is a good place to buy pads the Canadian Markup is awful.

      Yeah, apparently a lot of people got very mad. Which obviously wasn’t my intention to have happen. But to offer less is always an instinct for me. I get so many defective items and I’ve been doing this almost 25 years now. And your instincts were correct. It’s kind of psychology. When the seller said “im not really sure if they work or not…” that usually translates to “these probably don’t work.” Or at least that’s what you have to assume in most cases.

But when people wanna sell stacks of games for 1 & 2 dollars a piece then that’s what I’m paying. And as far as what I “find any day”, that just isn’t the same in 2023 as it was back in 2000-2014. • @superj2644
      @superj2644 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Emceemur I'm not one that is in a position to need to sell. If I did and sold to someone that sells on ebay, amazon, or even someone that wants the majority of the games and systems I'd sell for 25%-30% off of current market price. If I needed cash fast the local game store does almost 50% of the value of what they take, and if I wanted to sell for as much as I could I'd sell on my ebay at about 10 to 15% under market value to move stuff faster.
      I believe the issue most people have with resellers is yes most people are open to selling their things but they don't know the actual value the items are worth so the buyer comes in and says they are only worth a dollar or 2. At least 15 to 25% of what a buyer can get for items should be reasonable offers unless of course the items are at a yard sale at market value to begin with. But if they were not even going to originally sell it then the offer should be imo close to what they would get selling to a gamestore with overhead fees.

      @@superj2644 Well, that’s reasonable. I never tell people what their items are worth. Most people know nowadays. And I don’t think of myself as a reseller. I don’t do this for a living. But the reality is that if you’re going to sell things on eBay, you have to undercut the current value to even get looked at. About 10%-15% like you said. Then eBay will take upwards of 20% in fees. Then you have to ship the item at inflated rates. And finally, now we have to pay taxes on secondhand sales. So I tell people what I can pay for an item if they’re too high. They can always say no. I can justify any offer I make. After all of that, you still run the risk of buying broken stuff which happens all the time. It’s just part of the hobby. Win some and lose some. The issue people have with resellers is they’re being told that all resellers are ripoff artists. Some of them are. But we have people in the gaming community now, demonizing anyone that resells something. When those same people buy their games from game shops. Which are owned by resellers. And they buy from convention vendors. All resellers. And on eBay. Probably resellers. I think if you collect anything, you’re gonna buy and sell at some point. Im a collector first. I always keep some of what I get. The goal is to keep the hobby affordable and I made this TH-cam show to help people do the same. It’s a lot of fun and I just hope people enjoy what I make and find it informative.

      @Emceemur to be fair any offer is considered a lowball offer. Nowadays most want to sell for 90 to 200% of the current value.
      What is the part people dislike is say when you have a lot of items worth over 100, 1000 etc. And are given a good deal but have to get it even lower to maximize potential profits.
      On top of that most discs work with a resurfacer and the ones that won't are easy to spot. Not counting dollar bin games, but say you got a pokemon xd and they said 10 bucks even non working that's an easy 60 to 80bucks unless it's destroyed, like this ebay seller trying to sell a sh origins on ps2 for 80 despite the disc being broken in half.
      And most consoles even for parts are a good 25 to 60 a piece unless they have 3rd party accessories and look like they came from a sewage plant.
      The only other issue I have is when buyers try to sweet talk the person or say the items have no monetary value to maximize the offer the get will be as low as possible.

      @@superj2644 Yeah, I understand that. And I’ve definitely never lied to anyone about the value of their items. Im not going to tell them the value of their items. A lot of people tell me they would offer higher amounts if the price is low just to be nice and that’s total BS. If someone wants a dollar each, Im giving em a dollar each. And you’re right, a lot of people are selling at higher than market value. Convention sellers are often 20-30% over eBay rates because they’re selling to a somewhat captive audience. And im not shaming them. Make your money, do what you gotta do. But people always ask why I say eBay prices aren’t fair when I sell on eBay too. And the answer is that these items are obviously untested, often dirty and the sellers aren’t paying fees. They can charge what they want but they’re not likely to sell anything at full pop. It’s also sad to see games at flea markets rotting away and bleaching in the sun week after week. Because the seller prices high and won’t budge. Im all about preservation too.
