I have never laughed so much in my life! This is REAL comedy - its good clean fun with a boat load of tongue in cheeck jokes thrown in. Thanks for the laughs!!
You can watch their sketches. Over and over again. and. I don't know what. It. is. but every time although you. know what's. Coming. Your always. In fits of laughter. . . Where. Oh. where are the dvds
I was in fits of laughter when Frankie Howard and Ken Dodd walked on to the stage. Frankie's facial expressions reduced me to helpless laughter as did Ken's. I was in the second row stalls at each performance. Les could do the same and have me in stitches. The comedians of today are just not in their class.
Does anyone have a Cissy and Ada sketch where they are reminicing about the war years? It goes along the lines of them talking about all the handsome men of various nationalities in uniform at the time. Cissy says something like "All those Czechs" to which Ada replies "I always took cash". One of the funniest sketches I ever saw.
Thank you, gorlestonguy - my favourite Cissie & Ada sketch too! I've been fantasizing (so to speak) about a ruder alternative to part of the script, which Roy and Les would have enacted brilliantly but which would never have got through the TV censors: CISSIE (frowning in awe, on seeing the sculpture of the young man): Oh … ! It's Olympian! [heavy emphasis on the '..lymp..' ] ADA (looking shocked): Well! Sculptor could hardly give him a stiffy, could he? [slight pause] The Queen comes up here sometimes, you know - with Prince Philip. CISSIE (rolling her eyes): [explains 'Olympian' … (etc)] All very smutty and irreverent, but I don't think the audience would have minded …
I'm not so sure that it's the Programmers/Acquisition Dept, Dramaticguy, I read somewhere that the constraints may well have been implemented by the Dawson Estate...nevertheless, it is regrettable.
What a shame that high quality comedy like this was killed off by political correctness in the name of alternative comedy. The pc brigade must be really dull, unsmiling stick-in-the-muds with long faces and always complaining about anything which uplifts people's spirits.
That is why we have all these mental health problems, not allowed to laugh any more, The old saying laughter is best medicine, try telling these easy offended .....m.....s.
You never see comedy like this ever again
Wonderful ❤️

I haven’t laughed so much for ages. I watched The Les Dawson show when I was little. But, would it get passed the politically correct mob today?
