FIRST really needs to get come up to speed on technology and allow brushless motors and LiPo batteries in FTC. These brushed motors are obsolete and so are NiMh batteries. Industry has moved on and so should FIRST. STEM students need to understand current and emerging technology, not ancient history.
As much as I would like to use these as an FTC student, some serious safety concerns come up when involving LiPo batteries and more powerful brushless motors.

Do you guys think that it will lift a 27 pound robot with rack and pinion system may be a 60rpm one?
