- Paarl (/ˈpɑːrl/; Afrikaans: [ˈpɑːrl̩]; derived from Parel, meaning "pearl" in Dutch) is a town with 112,045 inhabitants in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is the third-oldest city and European settlement in the Republic of South Africa (after Cape Town and Stellenbosch) and the largest town in the Cape Winelands.

Wow that's quite sometime. What made you move to Paarl?
My husband moved for business. I wasnt so enamoured in the early years but Paarl has evolved from only 3 restaurants and one or to coffee shops to an amazing array of eateries. The influx of Northerners from Centurion and Natal to the Golf courses and into town for the s vc hools has enhanced the energy.
8:28 The lady that is waving her arms in the air, in the restaurant and myself were in the same class at some point , in junior high I think 🤔 🤔 . She hasn't changed at all (friendly and vibrant character) . It is great to see the Paarl , that I left 25 years ago. South Africa remains a very beautiful country. Thank you for this short film.

My dad owned jailhouse pub back in the early 2000s does anyone remember it
Before my time, unfortunately. Where was it? Maybe someone else remembers or one of the long term residents remembers.
It was is the main street close to Paarl boys primary and high school
