    in just one year when we talked about the blender config .. i integrated plasticity in my work..i love it so much..obviously it's hard to be as fast in plasticity for many reasons than in blender yet ( i compare modeling 2 similar complex shapes in both software ,and in plasticity everything is one click so in the long run ..you can't be faster ).but i love this software , and the export work so good , the progress has been amazing , i just want to buy it xd , i wish you the best of success

      Thanks for the compliments. To me blender is about as streamlined as is possible, so I can't ever beat it on speed exactly. The goal is to be almost as fast, but with the relative strengths of CAD. Some forms are better done in polygons and some are easier to do in NURBS.

      @@nickkallen1 well it comes from mainly because of the pick the shortest path thing ..that alone saves a ton of click ,but you already improved that with the loop selection .. and like i said the pie menus box cutter and stuff ..but like you said .;you take care of the core modeling features first .anyway ..good job man .

    • @bohdan_lvov
      @bohdan_lvov ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dude, IDK about that - personally I'm faster in Blender right now just because I've been using it for 6 years and were practicing poly modeling for 15 years, so yeah, naturally the new approach on modeling would take time.
      And it's well worth it not to have anything to do with the bullshit topology which is a show stopper in any CAD-like workflow in Blender.
      I'm not even talking about sub-D modeling because it's even worse with it's own set of insane rules.
      So yeah, Plasticity for the win!

    Nick is amazing so is Plasticity, I don't have the words to explain this game changer. I struggled in Blender trying to pull some off the things I can in Plasticity even with a bunch of addons. I spent more time fixing mesh's and topology in Blender then actually creating stuff.

    This software just keeps getting better and better, so impressive! The interface is so smooth. Very pleasant to use such well designed software. One minor problem when trying to modify objects created with the sweep tool. When trying to use the move tool on sub-object faces of swept shapes the operation fails. For example when sweeping a profile curve around a rectangle and then trying to stretch the resulting rectangular object with the move tool it fails. Not complaining, just trying to help by pointing out a possible bug. Thanks so much for all the hard work. You must be a genius.

    Hi Nik - Plasticity is a great program! But it lacks a few things: 1 - The solid mesh view is toggled on and off with a single keystroke. (Very important!), 2 - Cooperation with 3D SPACE MOUSE, 3 - The view cube should be bigger and not so small (e.g. with 4K Monitors) there may be a choice in the settings (small, medium and large), 4 - if you select any model in the main view (solid, plane or line), it is not selected on the left side of the model list (the opposite can be done, but you have to look for it). These are the 4 most important changes needed in this great program....there are still more things to change but these are the most important. if this is changed it will be the #1 CAD program in the world like Sketchup, Spark Design or Blender. Kind regards from Austria.

    I have some questions, is it possible to add :
    1 - Snapping just like MOI and Rhino - perpenticular, tangent, center, intersection?
    2 - Layers ?
    3 - Grouping like in rhino, where you can group multiple objects and have them selected with one click ?
    4 - 2 rail sweep ?
    5 - array along curve ?
    6 - when you draw a line to also type the dimensions ?
    Also, the software is amazing, CAD focused for artists is just what i need, I will definitly buy it once it's 1.0

    I like your videos, keep up the good work.
    But I have a side note:
    If you extrude a surface that curves in two directions, it can no longer extrude in the normal direction like standard polygon modeling programs and if you set a degree it either does nothing or just throws a generic error message. (The icing on the cake is that it messages dark red on dark grey. Kill your eyes to read.)

    Hey Nick, I've been loving what I've been seeing of this software, especially as someone who currently works in gamedev, and got their start in CAD like Inventor. Is there already, or does the team have any plans to include something akin to Blender's "Industry Standard" settings for artists like me who aren't already intimately familiar with Blender's UI and Hotkeys? Something analogous to Maya's pi-menus for example.
    Thanks!

    • @nickkallen1
      @nickkallen1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Keybindings are customizable, though currently that is done through a config file. In a month or two it will be in the ui. Other people can make an “industry standard” keybinding if they want and share it. I will note that because I have lots of subcommands it is very tricky to design a set of harmonious keybindings
