nice job!!! And on a budget, too! I sprung the $30 for the heat gun. Just getting started with this, but backed out of pouring my own heads as I'm in the basement and chickened out with the lead fumes. I bought some lighter wire Gamy heads in 1/8 - 1/4 sizes to also tie some marabou and craft hair jigs for smallmouth. Now I need to figure out a wire rack.....
thanks! I have changed my style of lure tying these days. I have found myself buying slotted tungsten beads since they make them huge now and just slide it up a hook and tie away! no more lead, no more painting as you can get them prepainted :)
No longer glitter. For crappies I just add eyes with nail polish, let dry then lacquer with small brush, not dipped.let dry a few days and the jighead will never chip. 1st I Heat, powder, heat again with candle no oven.add eyes, let dry, lacquer then dry again.before use. 100 at a time lasts me a year.
I am hoping these will help me. I am having issues with my favorite Owner jigheads rusting... planned to bake them in an oven while hanging from the hook.
I would highly advise not to eat anything from an oven after baking lead and paint lol.... I had gotten a new one from a wedding gift and decided to knock out a few videos before discarding
any time! thx for watching and feel free to let me know if you like my how-tos or if you wanna see more. winter is gonna be long and i'll be making ton more!
Funny that you ask! I have a few that i am finalizing up because trout season is coming up and i wanted to time it right before it so people can prepare! You should see me releasing it shortly. thx for watching
fo sure, but is there anything specific things you would want me to tie? if i know how, i'll share it. else i'll just start off with tying my best lures
raWr Fishing you could try tying a 2 colored jig, and match the hair with that color. They look real nice. Say you have black and white jig, so you do black hair with the black paint and white hair with white paint. Btw your video on how to do multi color jig, big help
lol it's almost like you are spying on me as i produce my videos :P i won't say no more here, just wait xD I am glad the video helped u out! walleye anglers seem to dig them, especially some UV combos!
Would yall like me to show yall how to Paint jigs with multi colors (IE Two toned powered painting style?)
Thoroughly enjoyed this video
Thx man!
Very well done. Back when I made jigs the painting part was the biggest pain in the butt for me. Thanks for sharing

thank you i learned a lot ! i will be powder painting my jigs!
Its very fun! Just don't use your eating toaster. I got a new bigger one as a present so I ended up using this for jig painting ;)
Awesome video man
Thx! Just don't make poptarts afterwards lol. I had a wedding gift of a new oven... so I used this before relocating this to the garage!
that was great! Now I want to powder coat everything...
You can powder paint almost every fishing thing... stay tuned for my next powder painting video ;)
I use fluorescent lacquer clear for that shine and extra protection. Lite wire hooks the way to go.
nice! so if i understood correctly, you first powder paint, then the fluorescent lacquer clear coat? u can also add glitter at that point right?

Watch the video for how I did it for jigs. Heat up the jig lightly. Dip into loosen powder. Bake in oven that is no longer used for eating. Bam done
