He’s been y’all’s MVP since he’s been at PSU. When it was tough for Harrison to get his catches, Day makes the adjustments in the second half to make him go wild. That’s been the difference from 2017 till now, Day makes the adjustments and Franklin hides in the corner until the Red Wave takes over and Ohio State is on top.

Great post! As a PSU grad, they have not won big games in years. Look at their record against Michigan and OSU. There is zero way an elite (if that’s the goal) should keep a coach who can’t win a big game.

The low snaps were definitely a problem as it can throw off the QBs rhythm and he has to drop his field of vision. A young qb on the road needs all the help he can get, and Allar got very little today.

Their record speaks for itself. Evaluate yourself. His answer for managing the game is sad. You should have been prepared. The game is close at half, and did not adjust at all.
He said two best defenses. Buckeye fans recognize how well PSU's defense played, especially without Robinson. Both QBs will be top NFL prospects with more experience, but they're better than most right now.
I think the PS fans always put huge expectations on mediocre teams is a bigger part of it, Come into Columbus and out play Ohio State are you serious? Do better and stop giving your team such outlandish expectations!

As a Ohio St fan I have tremendous respect for Coach Franklin. He is a professional, classy great coach. They have a great football team/ program, too. he's right the best 2 defenses in nation. I will be rooting for them to Beat TTUN win out and with any luck see them in the playoffs again.
I would love to see them beat Michigan -- but don't think Franklin can coach well in those types of games . . . happens over and over again . . . but I will be rooting for him/them!

I figured both secondarys would be challenging to the young QBs, but was surprised at how PSU couldn't get it done in the trenches on running plays. I wouldn't blame Allar at all, he was getting hurried and had no one to throw to.

I did not see much zip, but did see some arm punt type throws. Perhaps the ball slipped. First time seeing him. I am sure he did fine against UMASS. I feel the buckeyes dodged a bullet when they recruited him. @@shawnmazurek1017

Elite coach Franklin does what he always does against top ranked teams. His offense was the most unimaginative offense you will ever see. Allar is an immobile QB who will always struggle against top tier teams. Now you know why Franklin didn’t pick OSU as a yearly rival game. His plan is to play cupcakes and sneak into the 12 team CFP where he’ll implode every year.

Franklin 4-15 overall against Michigan and Ohio State. He is also 3-16 vs. AP Top 10 teams and 1-11 vs. AP Top 5 teams. How do you keep your job with that record?

after Michigan he'll likely be overall 4-16 against Michigan and Ohio State. He will be also 3-17 vs. AP Top 10 teams and 1-12 vs. AP Top 5 teams. I think Penn State's admin standards it seems are different than Michigan and Ohio State's. He'd be fired long ago at Michigan and Ohio State.

Penn State is light years behind the premier programs on the offensive side of the ball. Not sure Franklin will ever be coaching at another keystone program.

Very bad game day coaching for his whole PSU career. Sickening. Good complimentary football to help Ohio State win again. No passing offense. No pass defense. No special teams. No late Defensive stop when needed. No smart coaching decisions.
2 of the best teams in college football? Penn State's offense is the cure for insomnia. He argued with a fan that called him out for not stretching the field and throwing the ball down field and deep. This team will never win any big game without a change in offensive philosophy. This game was hard to watch. Penn State needs to be 18-22 in the rankings. I can't name a top 15 team they have a better or comparable offense too.

Ah, the Penn state excuse show
As a 60- year Ohio State FAN (I'm from Columbus, OH) I can say this honestly - Ohio State dominated this game much more than the final score indicated. They still leave a few too many opportunities offensively on the field i.e., during their last offensive possession with the score 20-6 and 3½ minutes left in the game, they ran 3 straight times up the middle for virtually no yards and eating very little of the clock. Penn State takes over with well over 3 minutes left and marches down the field (their only real offensive drive in the entire game) and scores a TD..........all of a sudden it's 20-12 after they failed onthe 2-point conversion. If they recover the on-side kick, who knows how the game would've turned out? Point is, if Ohio State uses more creativity and aggression on offense, they run the clock out and the game is 20-6! Ryan Day HAS to improve his play calling when it gets into the waning moments of the 4th qtr and that being said, the weak link on the Buckeyes' team is that OL. It's very poor - they have two terrific running backs in Henderson and Williams and neither has had much success because the OL just cannot open up lanes for them to run! This HAS to change if Ohio State is going to be successful and finish in the top 4 and beyond!
No one dominated this game. Penn State's offense went to the pass too much and too early. Had they ran the ball more, who knows. But no one dominated.
Franklin is a nice coach, not elite. The board likes him because he runs a clean program and always gets his team into a bowl game.

c'mon, (I'm a Michigan fan living in PA) Penn State as one of the two best teams in FBS? Ohio State is definitely one of the best in FBS, always will be, but Penn State has been left behind and I believe it is due to Franklins' football philosophy, ie. Hope it will work out. It hasn't. Franklin is smoke and mirrors. Penn State seems to be a place where QB's go to die. Can you imagine if Penn State had Caleb Williams to go with that defense? Ohio State was ripe for the picking. Penn State consistently does less with more talent than any program. They recruit well (but that's easy given the home stadium environment and program history), but they do not develop the talent well overall. Franklin is only a mediocre (at best) coach with a big mouth.

Franklin has been at PSU 10 years. He has done some good things there no doubt, but he just doesnt have the ability to break through the glass ceiling it seems. Manny Diaz would be better at HC in my opinion.
