2:21 Laplus has a very good "hey guys, come on, yeahhh" If I didn't know any better I'd think she was a native English speaker tbh. Laplus is inspiring stuff.
Marine's confusion is understandable, because English is one of the only languages where words can be spelled differently yet sound the same. Though not as confused as some would be, because IIRC Japanese can also do that with kanji.
Yeah, Japanese doesn't have many sounds, so to get enough words, they have to repeat them often. For example, Kami means God, Paper, and Hair. All of these have different kanji, so are written differently, but pronounced the same (or similar). The thing is, as with English, it's usually easy to tell from context which meaning was meant, and the language often uses pitch accent to distinguish between the different meanings of the word, like what English does with different stress patterns. An English example, if anyone's interested, is the word "present". It can have stress on either the first or second syllable, and the meaning changes depending on which, though there are 2 meanings when the stress is first anyway.
In Polish we have for example może and morze - one means maybe, second means sea, both are read in exact same way. It's common in languages, it's called homophones.
If I ever go to Japan I wanna be a menace and go up to random people and say “Ano, sumimasen, eigo wakarimasu?” And even if they say I donttu speaku englishu, I’ll just look at them all baffled like and then repeat the phrase.
Man, that fondue seems like another thing.... Yabai.... Marine with meat friends lol (or niku tomodachi wwww) Okayu cute catto as always My favorite parts
Someone once said in a comment they thought it was funny that most JP mems copied Korone saying "hey guys" to talk to EN bros and I had never noticed it and now it's all I see. To that one person....I hate you. 😅
I just imagine Suisei's mom watching her streams and cringing at the English moments.
Grorious thoughtu.
"Niku tomodachi?" was priceless.
Damn, I didn't realize Suisei used to strain her voice that much to try and play up the cute factor
I'm not sure but I think she does that just as a gag sometimes
Yeah the old days sui chan, until her throat gave up and had to use her real relaxing voice, i love her real voice more
@@ffrakuen4548 agreed, I'm a sucker for deeper voices
The age of 30 is in demand - Marine 2022
Wondering about people's reaction when Marine uses "I am 17 girl" at a bar
That's a lot of girls
Holy crap I forgot what Suisei's old voice used to sound like
LOL the snort that Kiara had when Marine said she was 17, no belief whatsoever lol.
LaPlus' "Let's f***ing go!" sounds exactly how I thought it might, and it's awesome
6:25
Kiara: How many instruments do you own?
Pol: ... YES!
Somehow Pol actually ended up giving a based answer, which is contextually correct.
So she's basically the analog equivalent of a soundboard. Got it.

Also she likes ass, thats very native q:
4:03 Spookily spot on pronounciation for "vismand", which is wise man in Danish (literally "sage").
‘Vismand’ would be fishbasket in dutch, which isn’t a real word but i thought i’d add it here.
@@nino2278 thank you
man Pekora “cheese fondue” was so bad… looks totally inedible
i keep repeating the part where kiara just asks marine to go outside and call a taxi XD
That Okayu bit was really sweet
That was my dono!!! Was not expecting a clip!
@@bowdly congrats man, okayu album is a banger

Thought we might get the "I like ass (earth)" from Laplus. Watching them speaking English is always very cute.
Laplus really just ruined that man's whole life with a 'that's nice'
"I'm 17 girl" get me laugh at night. Guess I'm dead...
the water in the cheese separated from the fat, yowza
Maybe I've had a few drinks but wow was the meat vs meet friends hilarious

I always loved Meat Friends. They're the only friends I've ever had...

*"I'm not 17"*
So you're acknowledged you're old?

Kiara: meet friends
Marine: oh i see meat friends!
Kiara: No!

Truthfully, I think watching Suisei do Duolingo is what got me started doing Japanese on Duolingo. That was over 400 days ago...

The more I hear old Suisei, the happier I am that we have her usual voice. This old voice doesn't quite feel natural for some reason...

Their English is cute
Someone once said in a comment they thought it was funny that most JP mems copied Korone saying "hey guys" to talk to EN bros and I had never noticed it and now it's all I see. To that one person....I hate you. 😅
It's sort of become a signal for all the English speakers to say hello. It's always a treat to see.
Where friends meet to eat meat.
Meat friends are best friends

Suisei's pronounciation is pretty accurate though.
