My experience with trilogy is that everything feels less stable than what I would expect compared to other manufacturers I’ve thrown. I have a beaten in fusion felon that’s a hyzer flip disc now, and currently am throwing a lucid felon that’s breaking in fast and one of my favorite discs. All these are max weight, too.
One thing to factor in to disc pricing is that molds are CRAZY expensive to machine/manufacture. So the sales of a given disc have to offset the cost of making the mold. The reality is a KT Grace will sell WAYYYY more than the General just simply because the Grace is a crazy popular disc that is suitable for a range of arm speeds. The General on the other hand…. Beef. It’s not going to sell in similar quantities because it’s too beefy. So they have to build the lower sales projections into the price of the disc to make sure it pays for itself (and hopefully eeks out some profit too).
Companies should use Tech disc or similar technology when testing their discs and coming up with flight numbers. They should also tell the consumer the plastic, weight and domeynes of the disc they used during flight tests to get flight numbers.

It’s also a bit diff bc the general is the only stock way to get the disc and there are cheaper ways to get sphinx but retailers will have diff pricing as is, appreciate the support so much. These comments def gave me a lot to think about which is cooln
@@BodanzaDiscGolf looking forward to throwing the scepter - and have no issues with the price. Understanding the little extra going to the player. Only nice to be able to support as it haven’t been too easy from here.
And the scepter looks much nicer 😉
@@kimeinvik is it a scepter or sphinx? I haven’t run scepters yet I dont think 😂 either way thanks so much
@@BodanzaDiscGolf sorry 🫣 Sphinx 😃
@@kimeinvik haha I was just hoping you didn’t get scammed haha
I would have liked to seen how it flew against the Krut since they’re both produced by HOD. I throw a Krut & it’s not as overstable as its numbers
You are seriously an amazing content creator. You have so much knowledge to give and I appreciate it, we all do.
30 bucks is wild for what many manufacturers offer for half the price
Would be good to compare it to dynamics enforcer, almost the same numbers.
For me, the most controversial disc is Loft Neon.
I backed the kick starter in March. They met their goal and sponsorship ended March 31.
The disc was to arrive in April.
It hasn’t shipped yet😡
Helicopter rides ain't cheap, yo.
Bodanza could have been an Ivy League professor in his field of coice. Smart as a whip his content loaded with info.
My buddy just got a Paige Pierce Drive, it was $45. This shit's getting nuts.
Where? They're $20-23 all over google in the USA.
@@BigJuice77 our local shop. It's a fancy glow jawbreaker run, not a standard. Should have mentioned that!
@@HonduDan oh gotcha. The most I’ve ever spent on a disc was $40, and that was a collector disc
@@BigJuice77 I know, I've bought more in the last two years than ever before in my 25 years if playing. Prices seem a little higher than years ago, it's just the one off special editions that are so high. I wanted a Calvin Groove, just to have it, but I'm not paying 28 bucks for a disc. That's wild Ricky wants 33 for a stock General.
would have been cool to see against the xcalibur
The vast majority of disc golfers can’t throw the General as Ricky does. So it’s cool to look at different ways it can be used.
I will say I paid almost the same for the sphinx at AR. Definitely worth every penny tho.
@@OnlyBandzzzDG dang yeah idk what shops are doing with their pricing, I try to talk in terms of manufacturer or infinite prices. Thanks so much for the support there!!
I played with a guy that had a green and white general. That thing was a certified beeeeeef cake. Definitely all of 4/0/4
Loving the smooth jazz in the background. Hahaha
have you been to Interlocken dgc? only a 9 hole but is pretty fun.
yeah I've played there a lot! Not too much on the channel but a few videos!
How do you think it would compare to a Clash Pepper (11 5 0 4) or a Clash Spice (10 4 0 4)?
The only DD disc I bagged was the Justice. Now that the Discraft Swarm is out and a much better tool for me, I dont have any interest in DD. Ricky is a great player but when your sponser is purposely pricing discs to NOT sell, it does make you wonder why they would do that.
Calvin destroyer is 45 USD and General is 30 USD in Sweden. Let's talk about it. Transport/import/export costs. Greedflation might be real doe.
Thoughts on Ricky general vs enforcer?
This is why I stick to one brand. I know how the discs fly compared to the flight numbers, every brand is different with numbers. Trilogy runs more under stable
Your "painful" honesty is so great.
If I sent you a form video would you consider doing a video where you compare it to yours (what Drew Gibson taught you?). Kinda a wild ask but It would really love help it!
not right now, I still have a lot to learn and many scattered thoughts to make cohesive. Maybe in a year or two I'll do form reviews
Fair! Well I’ll reach out then brother.
Would love to see a collab with ricky when you get back to TOURING.
Not gonna lie, I've always understood why Clash is a bit more expensive, but I can't wrap that thought around this disc. Also just frame by framed one of your tee shots to see what I could learn. Your elbow hyper extended on your reachback...is that normal?
I do it but I would not recommend it nor do I mean to. It doesn't seem to hurt me atm, but it's one thing I will be fixing when I have time
I do def recommend looking at other people's forms over mine atm :)
I get that they are expensive but it’s far and away my favorite disc and have found no other discs that fly the same
How does it compare to a destroyer?
Why would you not compare to Enforcer, PD2, Juggernaut and SLAB? those are all much closer and would have been more interesting to seen compared.
@@cheesebamp bc the general flies like the discs I threw not those beefier ones
When I lower supposed to reopen? I played Upper Badlands for the first time yesterday with my work buddy and his brother.
11 holes are in right now at lower. But missing the full course big time.
i wish you had plasma photon.. i feel like it has a more similar flight to it . HOWEVER.. standardization NEEDS to happen for the sport to be taken actually serious.. I know simon was talking about that. theres 0 reason manufacturers cant have a robot throw a disc at different speeds.. No i dont expect them to test every run.. but at least different plastics. I wanted the general as my photon but you're out of your mind if you think i'm spending 30+ when 90% of my bag is remix or second run stuff unless i'm sponsored theres 0 benefit for me to spend that much money as an ma3 player (at best) / mostly rec.
i bought 1 disc that was 30+ and that was an AB glow teebird 3 and i lost it .. sport stops being fun when you're losing things randomly at 30$ a pop when part of the draw is low cost of entry vs some other sports
I would say you’re paying more for the Sockibomb general because your money goes to pay his pay check, and import costs.
Beware the general ... Great song.
it’s 3 am but i must watch
Compare it to the Trespass. It seems to fly like a more stable Trespass.
@@AppleseedVaj definitely a good bit more OS than the most stable trespass
@@BodanzaDiscGolf I just remembered. They have the Enforcer in their line up with the same flight numbers. How is the General compared to that?
@@AppleseedVaj less overstable than some enforcers more os than others. Typically it’s a less overstable mold but there have been so many plastics if enforcer so it’s a bit inconsistent
there are many discs in stock runs that fly similar. Enforcer, PD2, Force, X-caliber... the list goes on. And the flight numbers don't matter. It's all a plastic lottery.
Pro models are for suckers.
Why no PD2 to compare :(
Remember guys they will charge what the market will bare so if you hate the price please dont buy it
How about a force
I can throw into 1st available with $16 disc.
Mang, idk you and I ain't trying to pump your steez but take a sec and BREATHE. Are you in a rush ?
i’m about to start buying golf clubs forget disc golf if it’s costing this much
that forehand wobble is unreal lol do some fieldwork brother
6:09 You really like what? More power to you though!
The old venum run is 12-4-0-4.
It was completely retooled so the numbers are different.
Right. I was going to say he could snag one and compare it. I picked a couple up new online for $9 each.
100% done with House of Discs and their pricing. I might support a pro of theirs, but when you can support a pro from other companies for $25, why buy a “stock” for $30+?
No pd2!?
Conquerors are way cheaper and you get what you need
No pd2?
Nevermind I see the conqueror
If you think a top 5 Pro Disc golfer should get paid at least 100,000 then buy his disc. If not don’t. If you think Garret Gurthie or Anthony Bodanza should be able to make a full time living off of a disc golf career than buy their discs. If you don’t care about People making money off of playing disc golf or testing and promoting discs then just by the disc with no name on it.
Excalibur would have been better
Going to be baby Town frolics in your home soon❤ I can see it in your eyes, you're getting close.
venom is 12 speed, not 13 like you said 1:58
look at the stamp of the disc
If you look on Infinite’s website the Venom has the same rim width as your typical 12 speed like the Destroyer
@@BodanzaDiscGolf hm okay, infinite has it as 12 on their site. And the width is more consistent with 12 🤷♂
@@josiahmhowardit’s pretty much a 12 speed. They just didn’t want to release a disc with the same numbers as a force
Infinite might be $2 cheaper, but I’d rather pay $2 more and get it quicker from 1010….. infinite is notoriously slow to ship stuff
No juggernaut?
@@beastmodegym4170 wayyyy beefier
@@BodanzaDiscGolf but I wanted to see it 😞 a proper 12-4-0-4 not this bs that people put out to make them feel strong for flipping a “utility driver”.
6:08 enunciate, my man
Price point is high becuse of same reason Calvins Destroyers are more expensive than stock Halo Destroyers ;)
I guess but Calvin's destroyers are 22.99 on Innova's site. a $10 difference is a LOT
@@BodanzaDiscGolf yeah in US, look outside US, in Sweden for example the Calvin Destroyer is much more expensive than the General.
6:10 😏😏😏 ya really like that… do ya?
30$ a disc lmao your gonna push the sport back into the dirt .. i would never even pick that up in a store .. i might as well go play a real round of ball golf
no body likes ricky that much lmao simon is like the lebron of disc golf and i wouldn’t even pay it for simon
Simon is much more like Shaq. Ricky is the obvious Lebron comparison, long successful career, perennial contender, last remaining of the old guard.
False. I do. Ricky is the freaking man
Dynamic Discs are too trash to have that price tag.
