My former Howard University classmate, the late, great Geri Allen. Geri was so far ahead of her time it wasn't even funny. Here she was 18 years old, a freshman at Howard in 1975, and smarter and more talented than ALL of her professors and of course, her classmates. But you wouldn't know it because she had 'ZERO' ego and just flowed and hung out with the rest of us like any stable 18 year old would. But she was quiet and friendly. She never fought for the spotlight. HELL, she didn't have to. Her Light was always ON. When I found out that she had passed away, I literally almost collapsed to the floor. The only thing that saved me is that i was already sitting down. Sometimes life just isn't fair. Rest in Peace girlfriend. I will NEVER forget you and the brilliance that you got to share with the world. ❤❤
