I never saw a Quadruple Yakuman before... Can someone calculate the probabilities ? I feel like that's on a billion's range... Maybe more.

It can go up to a sextuple yakuman:
4 quads OR Blessing of God/Earth, big winds, all honor tiles, 4 closed triplets single tile wait.
I'll probably never experience it in any of my games, though I have seen clips of it on youtube.

One second you are like Scrooge McDuck, the next one you are bankrupt, homeless and with multi-million debts on your back. All it was take to happen is to discard a wind tile only to hear "RON" And seeing opponent revealing Big 4 Winds + All Honors + Black and White + Earthly Hand combo. Prior to introducing Yakuman rule, this combination was worth a total of 1 444 000 points, and discarder paid for all with real money (1 point - 1 yen, 6x,East pays double).

it's a game mode though. the fact that this person got quadruple yakuman in a ranked lobby though is quite impressive

So... if you can tsumo a kokushi, make sure you riichi first for an extra yakuman.

@@yoshimine5 The riichi itself is irrelevant; because the player would discard the winning tile for the sake of 13-wait kokushi, they'd be in furiten. As they're in a state where they can't win from other players discarded pieces, might as well riichi just to "send the message".

And if the opponents chickened out they'll start to fold which helps you.

@@MrSocrates_ Yeh I think the riichi there is always correct. If it makes a single opponent give up and start defending, then the 1000 pts was worth it.

Give them a break man! They're just Silver Room players, and (probably) new to mahjong, so they probably don't know how to defend or watch for clues when someone's attempting a yakuman. If this happened in the Jade Room, however, I'd be like: WTF MAN! WHY DIDN'T YOU DEFEND AGAINST THE YAKUMAN???
