Thank you for all the great info and also also your extra bonus tip on the company you use. I am going to look into them and if I decide to go with them will definitely use your affiliate link. I looked into some local register agents last week, I am not in California, one was an annual fee of $300, which includes filing your annual SOS report, but they do bill for the $100 for the form filing.
The other was quoted at between 400-445 per hour.

Hm when you change from being taxed as a sole prop to being taxed as a partnership -- that's a better question for a tax person!

Hi, I'm finding your videos to be the most helpful! Thank you! My question is does the Registered Agent need to be located near where you live? Or can it be far away, either in my state or even another state? In the event that I would need to pick up paper work or something like that, I would hate to have to drive a few hours. I found a place that is very reasonable and doesn't increase fees every year but they're not close by.

The RA can be anywhere as long as it is in the same state when the business is registered
