    • @cosplayshop

      Think they are called Flat White Coffee in Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
      There are no "White Coffee" in America except for export café (Huge Jackman own a café that sold Flat White in NYC) and the closest to it you can order in America is an expresso then ask for milk (or cream) or spanish style "Cafe con Leche (literally Coffee with milk)"

      @@cosplayshop What is racist about white or black coffee? Trust America to make it racist

    • @_w_w_
      @_w_w_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cosplayshop It's more complicated than that. Creamed coffee in Europe is often shorthanded as white coffee. Flat white is something completely different. America is very racially sensitive. When you ask for coffee as in drip style coffee, you are prompted option for "black or ?" but never another choice of "white"... If you dare say "white" coffee, you would be called a racist.

    • @hesterbeard
      @hesterbeard 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flat white is like a cappuccino but with firmer froth, very popular in Australia and difficult to make. White coffee is coffee with some cold milk added for you by the barista

    • @cosplayshop
      @cosplayshop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@_w_w_ Well, that's actually the point, there are no "Black" or "White" Coffee in the US, if you order a coffee, they will give you a coffee, unless you order it by the name (like Double Soy Macchiato)
      Not sure about Europe, but as I said, in the UK, Australia or New Zealand, if I order a White Coffee in Star Bucks, they will give me a Flat White (There are also Long White, but, again, you need to order it specifically) And since Noel didn't specify what "White" coffee he is after, and him being British and being an American lived in the UK and Australia for over 20 years combine I would suggest he asked for a flat white.
      As for whether or not that is racist, well, it depends, are "All Black" (New Zealand Rugby Team) racist? how about "All White" (New Zealand Soccer Team)? or Red Skin (Washington State American Football Tea,)? Well, the first 2 apparently is no harm no foul, but the last one has changed after BLM movement (Red Skin refer to Native Indian by the way) So, that is just anyone guess. But if you don't know what it was called, it's no surprised that it will stun you to hear it the first time, I tend to chalk it up to Culture Shock.

    Hey Noel- A little more info on the ATC delay. When they activated the new procedures they reduced the arrival acceptance rate in order for the controllers to get up to speed as well as to find potential issues that were not expected with the new procedures. This usually only lasts a few days. Enjoyed the video!

    I have flown Breeze several times. I like it. The delays are unfortunately common. I travel solo and I have yet to fly with a seatmate which makes the flight very comfortable although also speaks to how relatively empty the flights are. My favorite thing on Breeze is the captain speaks to flight from the cabin instead of the cockpit which I think is a nice touch.

    Great work, mate! Great to see your better half with you.
    Here in the US, a government agency called GSA selects one airline for each route out of each city that has either heavy government traffic or over roughly 75K in population for the smaller markets.
    An otherwise odd example is ATL-Brunswick, GA. Delta, quite frugally, employs a CRJ-200 (I call them Satan’s Car) on the route. They are ALWAYS full.
    This is done annually. When an airline lands a GSA contract, it obviously becomes instant business and almost always, profit.
    By the way, I love to see McAllisters. They are famous for their diabetic shock inducing southern sweet tea.

    Air Traffic Controller here...delays are often set in place by ATC to help normalize the traffic flow in/out of a certain airport or area. This can be due to weather, an influx in traffic, airport construction/restrictions, etc. We’ll often get Ground Delay Programs, Estimated Departure Control Times, or Call for Releases. Essentially there’ll be a standard instance of delaying all aircraft on the ground indefinitely, setting a time restriction on departures, or releasing aircraft on a case-by-case basis. This normally only effects arrivals into a certain destination rather than departures trying to get out of a certain location.

    Great video, glad you got to fly Breeze, an airline even most Americans don’t seem to know much about!
    Just a point of clarification, a technicality really, but David Neeleman doesn’t “own” JetBlue. He was their founder and left as CEO in 2007, leaving their board a year or two later. He did help found Morris Air, a small airline that was purchased by Southwest Airlines in the 1990s, and assisted with getting WestJet off the ground too. He is still linked with Azul and TAP, the former he founded and is now Brazil’s #2 airline, and of course has since started Breeze…there are not many people like Neeleman! I can vouch that although his relationship with JetBlue is perhaps complicated, he’s obviously an intrinsic part of their history and was on their inaugural Heathrow flight in August 2021.

    I remember on my first trip to Australia in 1990 being asked if I wanted my coffee Black or White. I was really confused at first but once I figured it out it made a lot of sense. I hope Breeze does well. I am a little concerned about the major carriers cutting their prices out of Huntsville. It's a tactic I have seen used over the years to bankrupt the upstarts. Once the new airline is gone, the prices go back up.

    I'm wondering if the guy started that airline under a low-cost budget airline as JetBlue is starting to get into the realm of some of the not-so-budget airlines like American and Delta when it comes to cost, so they are getting to be known for that so maybe that's why he started the Breeze Air line.

    David Neeleman doesn't own JetBlue. He sold all his stock in JetBlue before launching Azul in Brazil, in which he's now a minority (though still the largest) stockholder. He also helped launch WestJet in Canada, then left it as well. When Azul (which means "Blue" in Portuguese) was founded, Brazilian legislation prohibited foreign majority ownership of airlines (this has since been lifted), but Neeleman was born in Brazil (his parents were Mormon missionaries in São Paulo at the time) and raised in the U.S., so he has dual American+Brazilian citizenship and was eligible.
    Neeleman still speaks awful Portuguese, not only with a thick accent but also many grammar errors, but his speech is understandable and he's very much admired in Brazil, especially because of the great job he did with Azul, which is consistently rated as the airline with the best service in the country and also the first in history to *profitably* run regional flights in Brazil, connecting many smaller towns in this gigantic country that needed airline service but didn't have it before.
    Lastly, if the E195s in Breeze's fleet came from Azul, then the seats have been changed: Azul's Embraer jets all have TV screens on the seats, as in JetBlue. Azul is retiring most of its Embraer jets because it grew too big and those planes became too small to compete with LATAM's A320s and Gol's 737s. Some E-Jets will be kept, but Azul now has a growing fleet of A320neos (combined with A330-900s for international long-haul, ATR-72 turboprops for regional routes to small airports, and curiously, a couple of old Boeing 737 Classics for cargo).

      @@kingfish4575 That is good. I imagine 45 plus years sitting outside in Alabama weather would not be good for it.

    Providence airport was fortunate enough to get Breeze airways. I've already flew with them to Charleston last summer and literally just came back from Norfolk. I'm incredibly happy with them. Including checked bags, I've paid about $100 round trip for both. It gives me the opportunity to visit cities where it's inconvenient before their arrival.
    I swear I don't work for Breeze ;D. I'm just a very happy customer.

    Huntsville is a surprisingly awesome little town. NASA has a huge presence there and I believe they still assemble all their rockets in HSV.

    Not just a lot of aerospace in Huntsville, that's where Space Camp is! You should send your kids there! I went when I was about 13.

    Looks like David Neeleman combined Southwest and JetBlue....course he worked at both (co-founded JetBlue). Sadly, they don't fly from Dallas yet...so no Breeze flights for me.
    Liked the seating setup! Middle seats stink! haha.
