I think that the person was just playing it very slowly, if you've played spiderman ps4 you will notice that the person isnt pressing the "x" button to do like a momentum release where peter does flips and stuff, he's just releasing r2. I've played the game several times it looks the same to me when you're not using momentum via the x button
Another thing is that the mission they showed is completely different from the one in game it’s crazy that they were originally have lee on the helicopter

I was SOOO pissed, took me a day or two before I picked the game back up again. Was so relieved I was wrong but I think I've held a bit of a grudge against Miles to this day so not sure how I feel playing as him in the sequel. If the game is as good as the first I might be able to get over myself.
