I've personally always interpreted this song as a love letter to our inner child, in which the "you" in the lyrics is that inner child in question. As we grow up, we grow more distant from them because we have to be "mature" and "responsible", keep our emotions in and laugh off bad comments/situations. But here they're saying you have to embrace your inner child and you're allowed to be immature and cry and be vulnerable, because dreams and emotions are what makes life worth living.

you are absolutely right. he did write it during his hiatus because of his mental health. svt has been a group that has talked about struggles with mental health very openly since they started growing up. And scoups wrote this for himself, sort of forgiving himself for being hard on himself for getting sick with anxiety and having to take a step back. I have always thought of their song 'Shadow' as a sister song to this song even though musically they have completely different feel, but lyrically they sit at the same table

i really like your interpretation of the song! i never really noticed that it was in a major key but it makes sense. especially what you said at the end about finding your identity. i have a tendency to project a lot of personal meaning into this song, but i like interpreting it as kind of making peace with and protecting your inner child who is always there, but accepting to have to grow up and face a difficult world. tbh before i even looked at the lyrics of this song, i was attracted by DK’s vocals on this track, he is going crazy lol. i hope you can react to circles some day! it’s a song that is especially meaningful to them and carats and every time they perform it it gets really emotional. anyway thank you for reacting!!

i love kidult so much its definitely one of my favorite songs by them, the vocals are so beautiful (esp dk's highnote and then his and seungkwan's voices blending afterwards) and the lyrics have so much meaning
