Batch Processing and Actions are two of my favorite features in Photoshop. It still amazes me how many people don't understand, or utilize, the power of Batch Processing and Actions. With that said... WHY HAVEN'T I EVER TRIED DROPLETS BEFORE!!!??? BEST. THING. EVER!
Wow, incredible. All of your videos are so helpful and explained very well. I started binge watching your videos the past week and have learned more about photoshop than I did in 6 months watching other people and have been falling even more in love with the program, inspiring me to create more. You don't waste anyone's time.. I wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. I didn't think I could learn so much in so little time and from free videos.
I can't remember EVER commenting on a youtube clip before but you and this tutorial have saved me many, many days work. Thank you. I am soooooo happy. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
using droplet encountered with 'droplet can't communicate with photoshop' and I tried with Image Processor and give my action, It worked this time! 😃 Thanks
Thank you for introducing the Droplet concept and how to create and use it. This was really new to me (as many of the Automate menu entries). You are great as always!
Wow this is amazing! Thank you! I create website and sometimes customers will send me profesional photographs that are 50MB or more and would make the website load slowly. I used to have to resize them one by one, this will save me so much time! Thank you!
If anyone gets the "Droplet couldn't communicate with Photoshop" error, it's an easy fix :-) Right-click the droplet file you created on your desktop, and select 'Properties'. Click the 'Compatibility' tab and check the box for 'Run this program as an administrator'. Now it should work... or at least, it fixed it for me :-)
Hi Amesh, absolutely love the channel. I have a question though... as a wedding photographer I usually do my base editing in Lightroom and then go to the "edit in>Photoshop" function for a group of about 10 images at a time in order to run an action within Photoshop. The problem with this method is that it'll open up every file inside of photoshop while it runs the action on each file, which can take away a lot of resources on a computer. My question is, is there any way to be able to use your method explained here on RAW files with Lightroom adjustments and still maintaining the RAW flexibility of a file? (In other words, avoid making them into a JPEG and then starting a batch job)
Fantastic video as always! Explanations are clearer than any other Photoshop videos on here! One thing though, do you know how I can get Photoshop to automatically close down after it has processed all images from the folder I dragged onto the Droplet? Thanks!
Great video. I was wondering if you have any videos in how to place an image onto a T shirt template and do this in a script fashion for multiple images. So, I have 600 images and I want to place them onto the same T shirt template and have them save as a PNG in a save folder. Is there a way of doing this using PS scripts? I just want to add that my PS skills have improved drastically thanks to you!
Actually I wanted to find a way to use a watch folder to resize my images (different sizes): but only the width - the heigth should be resized automatically to keep the aspect ratio. So I thought the Encoder could be the best way. There is the option to resize an .png-file (in my case) - but I didn't find the option to calculate automatically how many pixels the heigth will have. This tutorial helped me a lot to find a different way which works best. I already knew the actions, but the droplets were new to me. Thanks, man! If anyone still knows a way to use a watchfolder to resize the width and keep the aspect ratio of different sized images, I would be pleased if you could share your knwoledge :)
Question?....during the action creation and I try to save as a JPEG, I'm not seeing the JPEG as an option in the dropdown?? there's only a few shown, TIFF, PSD and a couple others.
Very nice video , but for FB you should export as PNG and not JPG. Facebook convert your image to jpeg even if its in jpeg already , this means that you are compressing your image twice , once when converting to jpeg in PS and second time when uploading to FB. When creating PNG , the image isn't compressed , so when you upload it to FB , it is being converted to jpeg and therefor compressed only once :-)
Hi, your the best tutorial far, your voice is always in my room as if your living here. Thanks for this tutorial, i need help my antivirus is recognising the droplet icon as a virus so as soon i finish creating it, the antivirus disinfects it and cant be used anymore.
can you tell me how can i drop folder on droplet but its not save a specific folder. it will save which folder i drop on droplate. suppose i create two folder a and b but i make a droplet photo resize i want to drop folder a on droplet but the resized folder save on inside folder a and when i drob b folder on droplet images are save on folder b.
Hi! thanks for this amazing video you made, I just have a question: when you did the resize, you changed the width in this case for a landscape taken picture, what about if the picture was taken on portrait mode?? do we change the Width or the height ?? . thanks in advance for the answer.
Hi man, thanks for all your tips and tricks your awesoa...one question, can make a Droplet that aply in raw imagens one preset and then resize and save as, all in one action? Thanks
It would be cool if the max-width was only on landscape images. When it's a portrait image, go by height-max. Otherwise, all the portrait images are oversized. Or can it do that already?
Many people featured problems with droplets such as "droplets do not communicate with photoshop" and so on...and there is very less solutions for it online...Can you mention something in addition to this tutorial which is awesome like all the others. Thank you!
Hi! Sir, thank you for this wonderful video. Just wan't to ask, why mine says "DROPLET CANNOT COMMUNICATE WITH PHOTOSHOP" or something, i am using Sir Lightroom CC 2015. Thank you..☺
If I want to do this with a signature I have created as a Brush. How do I do it so that regardless of image size, it always appears say on the bottom right?
Have the whole batch process setup and it appears to be working correctly however, adobe raw keeps opening and preventing the batch process from happening. How do I disable raw so that way the batch process will skip over raw and finish the job?
Hello there, I am on photoshop 2019 CC and when I do this, and throw a bunch of files on the droplet, it only converts one of the files...? Any suggestions? I use to have this working on an older computer but just got an M1 and cannot get the droplet to work no matter what I do.... It just converts one image out of several...? Thanks for any suggestions.
Do you have to make the folder to save before you create the droplet or can you give it up in the droplet? When I run the droplet it open photoshop in raw modus , how can I avoid this?
I have watched this over and over since it was posted. I had some weird experience with it because my antivirus detected it as malware.. hahaha.. I just whitelisted it and it worked just fine.
hello, I wanted to ask you a question that I can't solve: I'm preparing a droplet that first resizes the files and then inserts a banner (which I have precisely sized to size and saved in a specific folder) and then overwrite everything in the same folder source .... once created the action with resizing, adding banner and saving, at the start of the droplet I never insert the banner but only resize the files. why am i wrong something?
When drag a folder to Droplet, I am getting message "Droplet could not communicate with Photoshop" and I am unable to proceed. Please let me know what I have missed.
Great tutorial, just what I was looking for!! I quickly noticed that this only works if PS is closed. If PS is already open I get the following error "The command “Image Size” is not currently available.". Is there a workaround for this droplet if PS is already open?
I have a question. I have 400 images (300dpi) which i have to set it to a website and each images in different sizes. I want to fix all images to 1000*1000 with 96 dpi without losing its resolution using action command. When i tried on image tab and hit 1000*1000 the image go into stretch. If i check with canvas the white mark appear when i do save as to jpg. By watching your tutorial i get to know clearly how batch and automate works. But i cant able to figure out the above problem. Can you please tell me how i can fix this?

Workflow This is amazing !!
When drag a folder to Droplet, I am getting message "Droplet could not communicate with Photoshop" and I am unable to proceed. Please let me know what I have missed.
What does it do with portrait photos? Doesnt it make them bigger since height is greater than width in the case of portraits?
