Blomby Car arcade 1cc

1cc #816: Blomby Car. Played with WolfMAME 0.268, romset [blmbycar]. A rally car game where you drive as fast as you can from Paris to Dakar. You get a prompt before each turn, making the game feel as much like a quick-time event as it does a driving game. There are lots of other arcade games in this vein like World Rally, Thrash Rally, Over Top. This particular game has no other cars to worry about, just some wicked turns. The challenge comes in reacting fast, slowing down for about three turns that you can't make at full speed, and finesse in some turns that either require JUST the right touch or have an inaccurate prompt.
This game keeps score in a very silly way, where you can make more points by crashing than by getting the fastest possible time! My score was 13,115 with a couple crashes on early stages - the fourth and final stage has far too tight a time limit to recover from a crash.
It's never explained what the word "blomby" means, or what could make one car blombier than another, and that's part of the charm.

It's funny that this game cars sounds better than the Gram Turismo ones.
