Hi, everyone. Welcome to the channel. I'd like to clarify a few points about how I wrote the tab: I'll start with the main riff. Most people (including me before I did some research for this video) play the descending part 7-5-3. However, Metallica don't play the riff like Budgie wrote it, they sneakily changed one note: 7-6-3. That little B flat instead of A changes everything. It makes the riff a lot more evil sounding. If you slow down the isolated guitar track (you can find it on TH-cam), you'll hear it. You can also see Kirk clearly play that B flat instead of A in this video Metallica: Tuning Room (Barcelona, Spain 2018) at 5:26. Now for the rhythm part under Kirk's first guitar solo, the tabs are on my Patreon. I made sure the positions on the neck were accurate by analysing the performance at the House Of Vans. You can clearly see where James play the chords in this video. For the interlude, I had to rely on my ears and the isolated guitar track as I don't think the band ever played this part of the song live. All the under-solo parts are tabbed in the folder that is available on my Patreon. I hope you 'll appreciate the effort I put into making the research to provide you with the best possible tab for this awesome song. Cheers and rock n roll my friends 🤘
Thank you for mentioning the « fun » factor! I’ve always thought that good rock/metal has to be fun in some way or else it does get boring. When you watch a live performance like Seattle 89, it’s obvious that they were having tons of fun 🤘
Thank you 🙏 These guitars are getting harder and harder to find and the prices have gone off the roof as you probably know it. I was lucky enough to find a decent deal at a Japanese auction. i’m glad you appreciate the guitar and the video 🤘
@@Sergio2006A yeah, it is full of great riffs and the solos were written just before AJFA, when Hammett was in his most technical phase. Have fun learning this gem 🤘
Your collection of absolutely beautiful instruments and stellar technique continue to wow me! It feels every time I see you upload, you've got another instrument to admire along with the awesome playing. I truly am jealous! Haha.
Thank you 🙏 That ESP took me a long time to score. I live in Taiwan so I’m right next to Japan where you can still find some of those on auction. The prices have gone off the roof though. I finally got lucky in December and won the auction for this one. It’s a 1998 EXP Custom that came with the original hardshell case and the COA. I’m glad you appreciate how cool and rare these are now 🤘
Back when I actually played my guitars for hours on end, I LOVED playing this song! Tried to play it a few weeks ago, after not having even touched a guitar for a few years, and for the life of me could not remember the clean part. 🤦 Think I'll give it a shot this weekend. Hopefully it ignites the desire to play more often again 🤞🤘
Thank you 🙏 I wanted to start the Metallica tabs with a banger but not one of the overplayed ones. Also, this song is very dear to me as this was the show opener the first time I saw them live, in 99 🤘
What a guitar hero! Too much noise for my taste, but congrats as always !!! 😉 One or two thing sto ask you about "just call" and about what I told you by mail Keep on Vincent
Thanks, mate 🙏 Your ears need to get used to the distortion and then it’ll sound like the sweet music that it actually is. I’m sure you can already enjoy the melodic interlude in the middle of the song. I’ll get back to your email today ✌️

Thanks, man. There will be a lot more Metallica tabs, of course! Garage days is my favorite era of Metallica. It was before the massive stardom and they were on their way to finding their sound for And Justice For All. See you soon in the comments section 🤘
Hi Jon, the fact that this song was written by Budgie is stated in the description that I pinned on top of the comments section when I published this video. The only reason it is not written in the title of the video is for the sake of SEO. No disrespect for Budgie here, only love and respect for the band and the late Burke Shelley. Cheers

Fantastic performance and holy crap, you're more likely to see a unicorn than an ESP explorer.

Next Breadline by Megadeth🤣
I have way too much respect for Marty to cover the song that made him leave the band. But that was funny though 😂

How about you attribute this riff to the originators, Budgie? For gods sake!
