    Great work! I’ll definitely be referencing this video a lot. Heading to Stek in January for ppf and I personally own a 2022 ram 1500 so will be practicing this install probably as soon as I’m back from training!

    What brand squeegee do you use? Also how do you avoid stretch marks while stretching the ppf so far?

    What can I use for the tac solution? If I put warm water & a small drop of meguiars soap, would that be ok?
    I bought my Ram 1 year old, so I'm also wondering how this will look over top of a bumper that had chips touched up professionally. They hide well, but still have the little indents..

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tack solution should just be hot water. Adding soap to it will defeat the purpose of what you’re trying to accomplish.

      @@DriveProtected thanks for the info! I'm glad I asked, because I likely would've added a drop of soap too!!
      You think it'll still turn out ok with those little pits in the surface where the chips were touched up?

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  ปีที่แล้ว

      @dannymayes1963 honestly, they will be noticeable. Anytime you do chip repair, it’s next to impossible to fix them 100%. That being said, I’m sure it will be fine.

      Thanks for the info! Also I just realized I meant "slip solution" when I was asking about the soap lol!
      Just about to sit down & give this a shot.. 🤞🏽

    Eric....I had my PPF installed by a detail shop and there were a few issues I noticed once I did a good inspection of my truck at home. I found a piece of debris under the ppf near the lip of the hood and in another lower part of the bumper I found 2 fingers, would you suggest I take it back and have them fix it?

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Debris is a constant battle, even for the very best PPF installers. I always try and be upfront with my customers about it and when I can’t get something out, I’ll always point it out to the customer. If I were you, I would ask about it. What is it that’s under the film?

    • @MrBigtexco
      @MrBigtexco 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DriveProtected I cant really tell what it is but it appears to be a very small particle that I could probably live with since you explain it the way you did. I just want to be sure it doesnt tear or rip when washing or drying vehicle but Ill ask them. So I did mention there is two fingers that probably should be tacked down, correct?

    hello, do you use a software to cut the ppf, do you recommend any?

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we do! XPEL, Core, Film & Vinyl Designs, Vertek all make great PPF cutting software.

    Which film brand are you using ?

  • @MrGeorgiaBoi706

    I’m getting my 2023 done but they said they have to have relief cuts because of how it curves.

    • @DriveProtected
      @DriveProtected  ปีที่แล้ว

      Relief cuts are sometimes needed due to how thick PPF is.

    • @MrGeorgiaBoi706
      @MrGeorgiaBoi706 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the same bumper like the one you did in the video. But they are using the computer cut out pattern that has relief cuts in it. But you just did it without having to have relief cuts on the corners where it curves.

    • @mdforsberg49
      @mdforsberg49 ปีที่แล้ว

      All depends on the film. Ask your shop to see some work they've done. When I use 3m I have to relief cut. if I use expel typically, never have to. Trust your shop to install it how they install it they typically know what works best for their film and installation techniques
