I’d reckon honey drop is one of the gnarliest lift accessed trails in BC. That middle section is easily comparable to goats gully I’d say! Also can’t wait for the steam shovel video, that might be one of my favourite jump lines of all time! Awesome video :)
Definitely gnarly than Goat's Gully in my opinion. Goat's is rough and has some hard corners but it is not steep (other than the pro option line on rider's left after the janky right hander). Honey Drop is sustained steep gnar with root/rock drops and hard corners. I think Sun Peaks and Pano have harder/steeper tech than Whistler Bike Park (I haven't ridden Kicking Horse or Fernie though). Whistler Bike Park double black tech is fun but there are no sustained steeps, just single moves... outside the park of course is a diff story.
Jordan here in the UK I think we have the perfect trail for you. It's called top chief, it's at the Nevis Range bike park next to the fort William WC track. 100s of metres of super fast boarded sections then some of the steepest technical rock rolls you can imagine. Give it a look. Your vids pure quality as usual. Keep up the good work!
i hit that creek gap as well, i made the transition but clipped a tree shortly after i landed and taco’d my rim. but i made it onto pinkbike’s “friday fails” video so it was well worth it.

Sun peaks is my local mountain, and Sweet One is a double black because it used to be a double black jump trail with wooden jumps. They were really gnarly but someone broke their neck on them, so they had to change sweet one. You can still see the old wooden jumps on the side of the trail if you look closely. Anyways, they took away those jumps and just left the double black rating. Hope this helped! 😊

Just turned 55 myself and I'm starting to question my goals for the mtb. I had just wanted to dial up my skills a little bit since I'm sort of just a roadie on a mountain bike -- I go hard for long distances, but I don't really do jumps and drops and the like. Then last week I went to a local bike park and on a simple skills trail I muffed it on a log ride and crashed hard. Destroyed my Apple watch and almost gave myself a concussion. On the one hand I came through it relatively unscathed (and it was a hard crash), so I'm not so old that I'm completely fragile, which gives me a little confidence. On the other hand, I felt really awkward on most of the obstacles and the crash really shook me up (although I did get up and immediately do the log ride again, but with a bit more care.) I watch these vids and I'm both inspired and depressed. Just thought I'd share a bit with someone who might understand.

Honestly sun peaks gets really dry and dusty in the summer, so it gets all rutted pretty badly. Best time at sun peaks is early season but not so early that it’s pure mud
Great panning footage right at the end! Honey Drop! Super rad trail. I remember the first time riding down something like that - absolutely terrifying. Second time down was totally rad! Great stuff as always, BM!
