When I was a kid, I thought that the way you got mythical Pokemon was by completing the rest of the dex. Then I found out that you actually had to partake in a special, exclusive, one-time event that I didn't know about because I was a kid that didn't think to look up that kind of stuff. Even though I can get them now, I still think event Pokemon are an unfair concept. X(

That last printer message 'take care' was very sweet :) it made me grin like an idiot from ear to ear as soon as the printer came on screen. It almost made me tear up! (Ok, I did tear up) I love the crud out of your videos and appreciate the hard work you put into them.

So much nostalgia with the pikachu 2 gs thing. Had one but it was a bit different, i think it was the first version or a different one. (Yellow and another thing written under the screen)
It was so long ago, i have no idea now i need to find it. It's in my house, but now i live 3000km away :/. I'll take it when i go there.

Man!! I never did the infrared mystery gift (did it with stadium 2 tho) and never had a game boy printer so it was super cool to see those in action! Can't wait for the pokemon stadium 2 series, I'm sure there's a ton of stuff I don't know about that game too. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos, it's such a thorough guide to crystal and everything it has (or in some cases, had) to offer

This was probably one of the best episodes of the series and definately the most nostalgic too! That was an amazing throwback in memory lane and I'm sure it was interesting for people that didn't have the chance to try all these features.

Doesn't the 3ds have an IR port? At the very least we should be able to go VC version to VC version (because the regional versions were still incompatible back in gen 2)

i believe you can put in some printer paper for one of those oldschool printing calculators. The main thing about the gameboy printer was the paper was sticky, and that is why it didnt age well
Isn't there infared sensors on the 3DS? Even the DS should, Pokemon Black and White had a whole fanfare about it...

As an update for any future viewers, I tried it out, and you can do Mystery gift between two 3DS Virtual Console games (I did Crystal and Silver) I only wish I had a Gameboy Color to test the 3DS/GBC Mystery Gift compatibility, but I only have an original Gameboy.
I used to put mine on my dog to get lots of steps lol

Fyi the Everstone is not only used for not evolving pokemon - if a parent poke holds it while breeding, the nature of the holding poke is guaranteed to be passed down to the offspring :)

The other cool thing about using Mystery Gift is that you can battle a copy of that players current party in the Trainer House in Viridian City.
