Dude, they sound phenomenal! And you play em' proper to get that sound out of them! I have absolutely loved every minute of this video series. I've always appreciated the support you've shown me, and I'm thrilled to extend such a hearty "THANK YOU!" for all your work in return! I have a few kits I've been slowly refurbishing as time permits, but this has been truly inspiring and has already initiated more momentum in the right direction for me than anything else! Keep making the myths, brother!
Well done brother! You've done an excellent restoration. And your playing is top-shelf! Glad I found your channel (now subscribed) and look forward to more great videos from you. Thanks for keeping old school Ludwigs alive!
Thanks for the shout, Shawn! I really enjoyed this video! Really stunning kit, you did a great job restoring it. You also get a great sound out of the kit, and that's not just tuning. It's the touch.
You play some good drum beats . Solid strong straight forward with punch. Excellent kit restoration that captures the look and sound of the classic rock era.
This has been the most detailed and well-explained kit refurb I've seen. Thank you for making the effort to post it. I'm delighted that they sound so authentic and hat you play so well. Well done! Cheers.
Shawn, Those drums sound great. You have them tuned perfectly also. I have had that same drum set like your since 1974. I now have the same drums on in a 1970 Slingerland kit. same sizes and Paiste Giant Beat Cymbals from the late 60"s still. These drums sound fantastic.. Good job and you play well also...
Awesome Kit Shawn just like Bonham’s and sounds so vintage as well you did a fantastic job With the restoration of the Bonham kit thank you so much at explaining what you did on every step of what you did to get these 🥁 to look what they did when Bonham had 🤘 on man cheers 🍻 😊
Hey brother! Beautiful job and so well done in recreating this (maybe the most ever?) iconic drum kit!! Killer attention to detail! Great playing as well! Thanks so much for sharing all the details on this project
They sound great brother! Having a kit like that myself a few years back, I know how much fun they are to play. You did a great job restoring those beauties. Enjoy them man!!
Outstanding Shawn! I restore/rebuild drums myself and your work is first class along with your content! On a side note, your voice sounds alot like Rodger Cook of This Old House. Thanks for taking the time to create these videos.
I started out on a 20/10/12/14 kit. Then bought a premier kit in near Bonham sizes (26/13/16/18)… Made me realise how beastly guys like Krupa and Bonham were, you really have to lay into big drums to get them to sing, and the bigger movements to get around the kit add up!
Nobody should have that much fun…….you rock. Is the 402 a Supraphonic? I love the bright 2002 Paistes. I was just thinking this morning how many drummers go with dark cymbals and missed the bright paistes. Living vicariously through ya. Keep it up.
Is That a Ludwig Stainless Steel Set to The Left Now The Green Sparkle is Cool But That Chrome Set is The One That’s Ether The Original or Reissued Limited Stainless Steel Set Well Let’s See That One Hey Good Job on The Green Set And What Where You Doing in This Little Old Ladies Attic Anyways….? Thank You Also You Got Some Good Bonham Chops….
Thanks brother! It is stainless, original 70's I have a video on my channel of when I first got it but as it sits now it's 14,16,18,24 it needs a good clean up so they may be a future project/video. That little old lady has one of the largest drum collections I've ever seen haha I bought my vistalite set off her too 🤣
sorry man, i don't, i just tune by ear to what i think sounds good. maybe i'll download a program for that and go over it in the future! Kick it like Bonham has a great video on similar tuning> thanks for watching!
Hi. I really like the video. What difference does the original atlas cymbal stands effect the way the cymbals resonate? Does it improve the sound? Thanks
HI Shawn. I used to see this Ludwig green sparkle set in a Music store show room and say to myself "damn that's ugly, who would want to get up onstage with that homely looking drum set? JOHN BONHAM WOULD AND DID! I still think it's ugly, Ha!
They sound Great and Look Spectacular Beautiful work Shawn A quick question what is that ChromeOwood Kit to the left ? They look to be really Big Sizes Awesome!
Thank you! That's a 70's Ludwig stainless steel set. 14,16,18,24. I have a video on my channel from when I got it but needs an updated video on it as i didn't have all the pieces I have now.
Thank you! Batters medium, reso's higher. check out "kick it like Bonham" tuning video with his green sparkle set. Pretty much how I tune for that sound.
Lol. Some sloppy triplets. Nice. Gorgeous set. I’m gonna watch the restoration video in a few. I’m sure you could sell those for a great ROI, if you haven’t already received a few offers.
Thanks! I've had people ask if they were forsale but they're not haha I collected drums and planned this set for a few years. Unlike most things I'm really attached to it at this point haha thanks for watching! I ramble and say um a lot so I really appreciate it! 😂

John Bonham I believe had a 15 inch rack tom

killer!
Thank you!
What is the best cleaner and protection for drum hardware that is cheaper and pitting?
@@DG-sf9ei I like turtle wax chrome polish
Shawn, how much would a 12x 8 black clubdate Tom be worth in good condition?
I would think around $200 maybe a little more depending on condition and wether it's lacquer or wrap. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful Drum Kit!
How did you tension the Heads to get the sound?
Are the batter and Reso the same tension? Scott

Depends but mostly yes!
