This was exactly the information I wanted to know, I would love to recycle all the #5 plastic stuff that comes along with packaging and worn out items but I was confused why so much of it will end up in the trash instead.
Currently depends on the municipality. Often times it is "impossible" due to the lack funding of sorting facilities and because there is little demand for PP. Technically speaking, clean PP is just as easy to sort as PET or HDPE.
I almost bought a beautiful rug until i saw it was made of polypropylene and was disgusted , absolutely disgusted that it wasn't made out of all natural fibers .
@@gardensofthegods i have that material as a water bottle, i wanted to get something else if that bottle is soft plastic and so far i haven't got a good answer
PP is often used for food storage and is safe. However, each container may or may not be food safe depending on production. Make sure your PP container was actually made for food before you store.
I boiled BPA free polyproylene baby bottles for an hour by mistake, but they didn´t melt though. I fed baby brother with them, can the mircoplastics cause something dangerous to him later?

In what stage of recycling is it almost impossible to separate polypropylene? (At "intake" or at some other stage?)

Is it a soft plastic or hard plastic?
