Take it from a “seasoned” New Yorker, a tip if I may, never ever slice pre slice your bagels when you freeze them. Freeze them whole. I buy bagels from at least 3 well known bagel shops in Manhattan (Tal Bagels, Ess-a bagels and H & H bagels) and they all recommend freezing them whole, thaw them to room temperature and enjoy them with cream cheese and lox or your favorite spreadable jelly, butter, etc,,,. If you like them toasted just toast them lightly to enjoy the chewiness of the inside of the l. If the bagel if toasted all the way through rock hard it takes away the pleasure of enjoying them. Remember go light if you toast them and enjoy with your favorite spread. Just saying….
I never thought to use the microwave I just take my hand blender with the whisk set little attachments and I just whisk it kind of whip it up it makes it nice and smooth and easy that stuff into just an FYI but I'm going to try this recipe it looks really good
