OMG I knew I will find this video sooner or later, I also knew The Ventures were inducted, but never had the opportunity to watch the video, they absolutely deserve it, It's a shame that Bob wasn't there for this,, I have been a Ventures Fan since 1962, I own most of their albums and CD's. The Ventures are The World's Number one Instrumental Group. Their Music is and will always be awesome. RIP Bob and Mel
Noticing the date that this video was published - March 12, 2008. Well, March 12, 2018 is the day Nokie Edwards passed away. Ironic! Rest in peace dear sweet Nokie. So happy I had the pleasure of meeting you and your lovely wife Judy and having the opportunity to see you preform on stage several times.
Este es un verdadero tributo a The Ventures por tantos años de esfuerzo y dedicacion a la musica instrumental, felicidades a todos por su aportacion musical, son un ejemplo a seguir.
They certainly deserved it! I'm curious to know, are the Ventures the only instrumental rock band to be inducted in the R&R Hall of Fame? RIP, Nokie Edwards, Bob Bogle and Mel Taylor. And, Don Wilson please enjoy your retirement. Thank you, Leon Taylor for keeping their music alive. Last but not least, a big thank you also to all the Japanese Ventures tribute bands.
Respectfully, the first drummer for 8-9 months, was now retired USAF Gen. George Babbitt. He did a lot to arrange Walk, Don’t Run, was the first drummer to play the song with the group and the drummer on the original and best recording of WDR.
I think they were a HUGE groundbreaking band. I dig the heck out of them, and love them! I absolutely love instrumental bands of that time and they were certainly the cream of the crop! I was very happy to see they finally got into the hall!
@Calie2007 I am huge Ventures fan, have seen them several times and have dozens of their albums. I was always curious if the original members became wealthy from their music.
yeah i think so too!the other ex-members of CCrevival were only jealous of him...and when they found out that they were not able to write songs as good as john(look at the mardi grass album)they were pissed and said that his solo albums suck, even if they weren't listening to them!!! so what häää :P
well, JCF used to diss on "surf music" and stratocasters big time. see his guitar mag interview in 85. He changes his tune every day of the week on Creedence but has never had a hit as big as in CCR days. Coz he fails to forgive himself and his buddies for mistakes. His and theirs. John please do as you say, be happy and give CCR one more shot. Remember what your Mom said. Care for the people.
@@davidkirkham6497 I think he does David. John Fogerty has done nothing but diss everyone else in Creedence for years. However, it is nice that he pays them some cred here at least. Creedence was a great band unit, but John made the mistake of thinking it was all about him. His solo career relative to CCR proves otherwise. Time for some all round love and forgiveness, like the Ventures show here.

Same here. I've been a fan since 1960. They were, and ARE, the best.🎸

Nokie was one of the best guitarists ever to put fingers to frets!!!
I totally agree! I have been a fan of The Ventures since the ´70's and Yes - I also got tears in my eyes while watching this!
I'm very happy for them!

Great classic guitar band!
I totally agree, no one came close to bettering them.
hats off to the ventures

I went to high school with Bob Bogle's son, Paul. So, that's as close as I got to those guys.
God bless The Ventures.
I had no idea they were the first all guitar band. I figured Buddy Holly or Chuck Berry kinda filled that spot. Way cool!

Fiona Taylor, band manager. I believe she was Mel Taylors wife

Nope, Buddy Holly had a lead player, and he often played rhythm. They simply weren't the first.
But John is not very good at taking a speech :D:D
