    Seems like most reviews and critics don’t understand that the big screen 13” iPad Air is $800 and the Pro model is $1,300 but when you test them side by side at an Apple Store you don’t notice a $500 difference. I lined them up and played TH-cam, a game, and browsed websites and all I noticed was that the Pro had better blacks, got brighter, and had louder speakers…not worth $500 for most users. I own the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Galaxy Tab S8+ which both have 120Hz OLED screens and use my tablets for online school, gaming, streaming movies, listening to music, listening to podcasts, and reading…the 60Hz screen on the Air is just as good on a day to day basis and the screen never feels half as fast like the numbers on paper suggest. I traded in my 2018 iPad Pro and got a $330 trade in credit so my 13” Air was under $600. If you are an artist, video editor, or musician…pay extra and go with the Pro cuz for them it’s worth it

      Good words! I ALWAYS bought Air iPads as imho they are the biggest underdogs!
      I LOVED my Air 2 it was a beast and held years.. than Air 4 man that Pro Allscreen Display coming to Air felt awesome!
      Now.. having M2 in my brand new iPad Air 2024 its blazing fast.. literally.. its 2x Multi Core of an iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and "almost" same Single Core (10% slower).
      This thing just blows anything you throw at it and my 2020 A14 Air isnt even slow yet.. These things are awesome for the price tag and just deliver.
      I use an 13 Pro as iPhone and will go to either 15 Pro or 16 Pro this year depending on the price tag and features and dont wanna miss 120Hz and OLED there.. but on my iPad? idk.. im happy with what it offers.. I ONLY wish 120Hz or 90Hz but other than that it gives me exactly what I want and if your honest to yourself 90% of the people who opt the Pro.

      @@DiabloDeathstrike As a student myself I can recommend the smaller size. I use it in bed most of the time and although i have really big hands I'm not sure a 13" would be the way to go for my usecase. Anyway I am tempted to get a 13" pro for using it as a second screen for my MacBook or just splitscreen usage. Looked at the device in the apple store and to be honest I wasn't too impressed. Got an iPad Air right now so I'm not too sure I need to upgrade at all.

    I used the iPad pro 11 M1 and now ‚upgraded‘ to iPad Air 13 M2, because I use it as a teacher and needed the bigger screen for all my planning and notes on my students. I use split view and for this, the 11 inch is just not large enough. I tested both new 13 inch iPads and didn‘t notice too much difference between the Air and pro to really pay that much more. And i have to say, my face ID on my iPad pro annoyed me often enough, because i always had my thumb over the camera. Would be different now but I am absolutely happy with Touch ID and my new 13 inch iPad Air:)

      Also, I use the Logitech Combo Touch. It is so practical to just take off the keyboard anf still have a good protection on the iPad itself. Especially with students around this is a must for me!

      That is great to hear, since I'm thinking about trading in my iPad Pro 2020 13" to an Air M2 13". The display seems to be almost the same (even though the Air lacks the 120hz). Especially after the upgrade to iOS 18, the display is often restricted to less than 120hz (I think to save battery), so it will only be important to same user cases. For me the M2 is something that (hopefully) makes the trade worth it. And right now they still have the offer to get an Apple Pencil pro for free. That might be interesting.

    • @enashimo
      @enashimo 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wata2096Honestly not worth it. Unless you do video editing or digital art and need that extra ram and horsepower then yeah sure I think its worth
      But if youre only gonna use it for stuff like note taking and word proccessing , the performance wont be noticeable at all, in that case if you traded the Pro in for the Air you essentially downgraded the screen for longer OS support

    • @Disapproving_Welsh_Corgi
      @Disapproving_Welsh_Corgi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m considering doing a similar “upgrade” but going down a screen size because I don’t use split screen anymore. Love seeing someone doing a similar move. Also, MOOD with the faceId and thumb over the camera thing! Happens to me all the time

    • @wata2096
      @wata2096 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@enashimo Yes, I traded my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil for 550 EUR, and I got a new iPad Air M2 13” with Apple Pencil Pro for 889 EUR, so I effectively paid 339 EUR for the new iPad (and I’m able to keep my Magic Keyboard). Considering, that the old one started to get worse battery life, I think the trade was worth it. I don’t see that much of a difference in the display, only when scrolling through the internet or my notes, but it doesn’t bother me. I don’t use the speakers, I always use my AirPods. Of course the performance is not noticeably better, but now I have a “new” M-Chip, with the possibility for Apple AI (if it’ll ever be available in Germany 🤷‍♀️) and hopefully updates for at least 7 years. And the front-camera in “landscape-mode” is also a pro argument for me. All in all I’m happy with my trade, but the user experience on the new iPad is very similar to the old one, so it doesn’t feel like an upgrade (I know, the specs suggest, that it is a downgrade, but it also doesn’t feel that). So anyone who would like to get an iPad Air 2024, but is undecided if the display is worse than the one they already have: just take your iPad with you to the next Apple Store and hold them side by side (that’s what I did).

    After using a 12.9” 2018 iPad Pro throughout grad school, I picked up an 11” M2 Air and prefer the smaller size much more. It’s easier to use as an iPad and still functions just fine as a laptop replacement with the Magic Keyboard. I like that it’s smaller than even the MacBook Air and can still offer a decent typing experience.

    Great video, the M2 iPad seems more than capable of handling more demanding tasks and the 13 inch for me is the way to go. But for me, the solution to the whole accessory issue is just to use a Bluetooth Magic Keyboard (or any other brand you prefer). It’s cheaper and not iPad model restricted. If you change iPads you don’t have to buy a whole new keyboard case. Plus you can place it anywhere you want. Trackpad? IMHO don’t need one cause it’s already a touch screen. For more precise control I use a mouse.

      Well I have same tablet as you, and I'm looking to upgrade to Samsung Tab S9+ or Ultra / iPad Pro 13" M4. Or Tab S10+/Ultra, but those might come too late.
      I wouldn't consider going back to 60hz, and I also really want an OLED, so I would go with Pro model. Size is personal thing, but 11" Pro is not my option, because resolution is too low compared to 13" and Samsung tablets, and not high enough to cover 1440x2560 resolution. I would also like to try larger than 11" tablet, but that is secondary. Just my own decisions.
      Oh and both new 11" (just slightly) and Tab S9 base model (much more) have narrower screens than 10.5" Pro and I don't want that, so that's why Tab S9 is also out.

      @@kiisseli1337 Thank you so much for your advice . Mines become slower than before and I have about 4 hours on screen if I just do simple stuff like web browsing, but if I watch video, it will drop rapidly and become so hot.

      I think you’re completely wrong about that… I just bought an iPad Air 5th gen for $400, I was upgrading from the 2017 ipad pro 10.5. I am disappointed… So first the screen, the Air is not 120Hz and the contrast is not as good as 2017 pro. The iPad airs colors look washed out compared to the old 2017 pro. Next is the storage, it’s only 64gb… six years later and the base model still has the same storage as the pro from 2017. Now I guess the new air gets 128gb but come on… no, the processor and ram upgrade is nice but it’s not everything.

    Your audio sounds muffled, like you were using the built-in mics on the iPad Air, or like you had a cold (though I think it's the mic). And the numerous jump cuts, with zero spacing, are annoying. The time between jump cuts sounds even less than the time between any two words in a normal, unbroken sentence. Maybe that's just me...
    Thanks for the content, though.
    I got a 512GB Air 13, coming from a 2018 11" Pro, and I'm quite happy with it. I use an external speaker when I want big sound, an external display when I want a big picture, and I can use an external mic if I need the best quality audio recording. I don't need the Thunderbolt port on the Pro for any of those.

    I’m still torn between the 11” and 13” and honestly don’t know which one to get. I’m upgrading from an 8th generation iPad which is the same footprint size as the 11” but the 11” looks comically cramped when you see it alongside the 13”. Makes more sense to get the 11” from a financial standpoint as I can get the 256GB model for NZD$200 less than the 128GB model of the 13” but the 13” screen is just hard to ignore. Watching as many reviews as possible to try and make me come to a decision. The way I use my iPad is videos, social media, web browsing and a little bit of photo editing, 13” would be a good second screen but then again I could just plug my MacBook into an external monitor.

    I have only two bummers with this iPad: Face ID and storage. Face ID doesn't need any explanation, I love but I won't get it with Air. As for the storage, I don't know if I'm the weird one but I'm upset that they removed the 64 GB option. Because I use a lot of external storage and Google One, I never really need that much storage. My iPhone is 128 GB and I have tons of music downloaded so that it looks a little full. My Photos app literally takes up to a few KBs of storage because my whole gallery is in Google Photos. With 128 GB being more than I need even on my phone, it will definitely be extra on my iPad. But I was waiting for a landscape FaceTime camera and a bigger version of the iPad Air to buy myself my first-ever iPad as a smaller workstation, so I guess I will be paying for that extra storage now :D Also, as you might've guessed already -- 13-inch Team!
