I've just purchased my first Hobonichi and I'm so glad that they have a spring start option. Like you I hibernate during the winter and so it makes perfect sense to me to start a new diary in the spring when my body and mind are starting to wake up again. I can't wait to start in April :)
I’m a spring start as well!! I’m still in uni at the moment, and I find that my busiest times are dec-jan, and june-july, when I have all my finals. It’s not a good time for me to be switching planners, so the spring start in April from the hobonichi is a blessing. Looking forward to my new Hobo Weeks in April, but I’m also happy I can cozy up with my already familiar and lived in planner & journal during the dark winter days 🤎
Really love your voice over explaining your planner style! As much as I appreciate planner videos with all the random thought processes, I like yours more which has a balance of randomness but also intentionality with how you write in and decorate your planner. It really motivated me to write my daily thoughts more without restrictions (and in the end, I ended up discovering that my stream of consciousness writing had more coherence than I thought it did!)
Thank you for sharing your pages! 2024 will be my first year of using Hobonichi so I’m very excited to use it! I’m usually a January-start type of person, as well as a stream of consciousness writer!
How exciting! I hope you find how you like to use it and write in it. There are so many different ways I’ve seen people use Hobonichi and it all still inspires me!
Love this journal Jas! The commitment to the daily stream of consciousness entries is impressive. Love the idea of using the calendex for the word of the day! ❤️
Hi! Your Best & Worst Purchases popped up on my recommended and I’ve been binging all your videos 😂 I am a September start person. Once my daughter started preschool, I found it easier to just go along with her school year 😊 I love looking at all the notebooks but it’s One Book July all year for me. I use my own layouts, so I get plain grid notebooks.
Thank you so much for sharing! ❤😊 I’m one of the people who like beginning the new year in the new planner. My birthday is also in January so I look forward to treating myself with the fresh new goodies 😄. I keep a work planner and a personal planner/journal so for me, getting to finally be finished with a year is a relief. Plus, with the way my work is, there are big things that happen throughout the year every year that cause a bit of stress so knowing I’ve finally past that part and can put it behind me is a huge load off my mind. I can totally appreciate your journaling style and love how fluid it is. It also makes sense since Spring is when everything is starting to come back and blossom. I miss that about living in the Midwest. I live in Los Angeles so I don’t get to really experience real seasons. I lived in Michigan before and spring was always so beautiful. Loved seeing all the flowers bloom. The area where I lived, people were really big on having beautiful big gardens. 🌷
I’m from California so I understand you not getting to experience the real seasons there! It really doesn’t get colder than 60 for a majority of the year! I would love to one day travel to places in the world known for their dramatic change in season, specifically Fall! Never having experienced the ground covered in fall leaves, I would certainly make a trip out of experiencing a true fall scenery!
Loved your video! I can't journal if boxes are around me what to say, how to say it and prompts. I have to go with the stream, so I totally understand your daily stream of consciousness writing. I had a techo in my cart on Amazon but I was afraid of those boxes and to do areas making me feel to confined what to put there. I love that you kind of made it all your own!! Love your planner/journal. Great job and it's super pretty!
I completely quit the Hobonichi after 2021 b/c of the paper. I do use fountain pens but most of the time, especially during the day I am not using a fountain pen. However, starting in 2024 I think, the NEW Tomoe River paper by Sanzen is SO much better for other types of pens. It is still thin, but the dry time is way less and the smearing is very little. I just love using the Hobonichi now that the paper has changed and I have also moved from a TN standard weekly + memo to a Hobonichi weeks because of how much more I like the Sanzen TRP
It is a Baum kuchen and The Superior Labor collab cover! You can find different sizes on Baum Kuchen’s website. They release new colors each year and do a few restocks until they retire the color!
Hi! The cover is by Baum-Kuchen Studio! They have an online website. This shade is called Seashell. They come out with a few colors each season with different leather and canvas combinations. It is a collaboration item with Japanese brand The Superior Labor!
Wind whistling was actually quite a nice touch. Almost sounds like train in the background. How ASMR ;)

Watching this in the fall season and that wind in the background is the perfect touch 🍂

Your reason for using a spring start makes a LOT of sense!
This is my most favorite flip and explanation ever. 😍💗 I’m a stay a home mama (homeschool mom!) and I love daily journaling.
I'm so glad! I hope to homeschool my kids

Love how you’re casually talking when there’s a tornado going on in the back lol. Jkjk I love how you set up your planner 🤍
😂 it sounds so intense in the video

I love the cover, just ordered a blue one. Dang... just bought an A6 HON and doubt if it'll fit the cover but there's always next year 👍

I agree with the sanzen being great with other pens. I love how gel pens and brush pens write on Sanzen
WOW Jasmiin I really enjoyed this. I want a Hobonichi but can't decide between A6 or A5. You have helped me make my decision 🎉🖐👍👍
Love your journaling pages. Great video
Love the ink swatches on the monthly. Great idea. Howling wind fits right in with a Halloween theme🎃
😂. TFS
That’s so true haha I didn’t think of that 🌬️
Beautiful journal!
i love it!
Hi, what do you use to put your ink swatches on paper? Your swatches are really nice!
Great video. I particularly love the cover you have! Can you tell us where you got it from?

@@journalwithjas Brilliant, thanks very much!
Hi….do you mind saying where this journal case is from? Thank you in advance! 🫶🏾

How do you ink swatch on these? Is it the way you would with watercolor?
I used the back of a cheap paintbrush! Just the plastic end 😊
Where did you get those stickers?
A lot of what I used in here are called PET tapes. From illustrators like Pion and La Dolce Vita
