I am just going to ask, because it looks so interesting. In your thumbnail picture, you are standing with an oversized retractable nib, which seems to have multiple tips. What pen is it supposed to be? Like your overview of the show.

I ordered one of these for 2025 and I am already curious how I like it ❤ I chose the sand color 😊

I recently purchased the Pilot Custom 743 Verdigris with the <FA> Falcon nib and absolutely LOVE it. The colorway of the Verdigris was a must have for me. I got the Pilot Custom 823 Amber <EF> at Dromgoole’s in Houston, TX. They switched the standard <F> nib to the <EF> for me; it just voids the Pilot warranty. Definitely check out Dromgoole’s online and reach out to them for your Custom 823 to add the <FA> nib! I like the Con-70 converter in the 743 because I can change inks a bit easier than the vac fill in the 823. I knew I would want to switch the inks more often with the <FA> and the Con-70 lasts me ~2 weeks before needing a refill; where my 823 can go ~1.5 months before needing a refill. My 823 is my work horse and only runs Noodlers Dark Matter. My 743 <FA> has had Private Reserve Spearmint and Diamine Autumn Oak. The 743 <FA> F-M line is perfect for titles with adding medium/high pressure and can be a work horse with light pressure no problem. Nonetheless, I’m a huge fan of the <FA> and absolutely love my collection to this point. Very lucky: 4x Lamy Safari (EF, F, M, B), 2x TWSBI Vac Mini (EF, 1.1 Stub), Pilot Vanishing Point (F, Stub), Pilot Custom 823 EF and Pilot Custom 743 FA.

Loved your video, most of all the washing the leather: what a brilliant idea and I like the natural leather best but had never considered buying it because of the potential of staining it -- so thank-you. Regarding your videos I think you should do whatever is best and easiest for you. Take care of yourself and best wishes

Great video and beautiful addition to your collection! As a recent 18K convert (because of you, of course), I've been keeping an eye out for other vintage 3776 Platinums, and you're 100% right. They really are terribly hard to track down. It was clearly a sign when I was able to find the one so quickly. Since then, they're either so expensive or simply non-existent for me. 😅

With a cover like that, I don’t think I’d even use an exterior cover. Just get a pen loop. MAYBE a clear cover.

I would go for the custom Sailor and the nib grinding. I'm from Canada and have not been to SF before, I saw you mentioned your trip to the Golden Gate Bridge - would you budget time to visit any other attractions while there the next time?

I had the same experience with curved scissors, they are not cutting where I want to cut but they move on their own .. the edges are worse than on short straight scissors.

The olive pouch is my favorite just beautiful.

I started one of these a few months ago as well. I have a beautiful wooden stationary box with a glass lid and I was just cutting out and saving these little bits and putting them in the stationary box. A few months ago I purchased an inexpensive leather wrap, journal with vintage paper in it and just started gluing all those things I had saved. Some of the packaging as you said is so beautiful it seems a shame to discard it. Once in awhile, I will add a note or two describing what the item was that I had purchased or where I purchased it from or the feeling I had when I received it and how I plan to use it, but I don’t do this for everything. Really enjoying your channel, your videos are inspiring and relaxing!

I love your collection and the bag is absolutely gorgeous! It’s on my wishlist now for sure 😊 I do have the petite bag I got it at the Stationery Fest and been wanting to get the leather tool holder for a long time. I definitely want to invest in more superior labor items!

You would be surprised what a petite can fit. When I got mine i was disappointed because it seemed so small. I was actually able to fit my MacBook Pro (14"), my iPad Pro (the big one) 2 uni textbooks, my Kindle, my phone, calculator and pencil case. There was even a wee bit more space left

Great tips! I do document food and spots through pictures, so I can go back to these for journaling, I too have a backlog on my Japan/Korea trip from May/June this year!

The price at Itoya was very good. I purchased a Fountain pen and the service when you get a pen from there is next level. They find the best nib for you, then they ink up the pen, and if you are satisfied with the writing experience then they clean the pen and wrap it up for you. So the pen is the exact one you get when you begin using it at home. Plus Itoya is a tax free store as well.

Thanks for the inspiration to back journal. I travelled May-June 2023, I started the journaling during the trip but as often happens, I couldn’t keep up. I was debating how much I would back journal. Just the major events or attempt to do every day. Either way, I want to add to what’s there. In years to come, whatever little I accomplish will be better than nothing at all.
