I'm glad you do a lot of reviews on smaller games as well as the big AAA stuff. Too many of the high sub count review channels tend to just focus on the latest big budget stuff. Looking forward to the Elex 2 review. Plus, fellow Oregonian.
After finishing Pillars of Eternity 2 and Disco Elysium in the past several months, this showed up just in time. Glad I backed it on kickstarter.

Picked this game up in a bundle from Fanatical for $10. Had never heard of it but it looked intriguing enough to try. I'm not too far in but the story, world building, and art direction has sucked me in. The gameplay has a lot of running back in forth but it's not too bad for the most part. Even though I'm not much of a point and click adventure game anymore (I played all of those from the 80s/90s) the world has me invested. It's a cool game with a really unique setting. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I watched the end over and over again, trying to find the actual rating! I was sure Im crazy.. but guess not..
Although one must say that _"if you like point & click adventures, then this is for you!"_ is quite a meaningful statement as well.
I think he basically said this is a good game for the money, if it's the kind of game you like for the kind of money it costs.

Played a free to play game these guys made called Cayne (on steam). Had not heard of Stasis until now and was looking at this game and saw you had done a curator review on it (Again on Steam) and after watching this review I am going to get it. Cayne's story though short had a gruesome ending that was deliciously well contrived. I am also going to take a look at this Staisis you mentioned so thank you for the inspiritaion.

Damn...I just wanted to say: "THIS LOOKS LIKE STASIS" Then you mentioned it :D They sure are inspired by the isometric look of Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale, etc. Almost painted. Thanks for making me aware of this game! Did not even hear about it.

I don't know if you came up with the "Your shoes untied, run it off!" analogy Karak, but it's one of the funniest thing i ever heard :D
Now that I think about it the first time I ever played games on a PC was at school during class (wayyyy back, starting in year 5 in 1995!) (Im 36 now) I think the first PC game I ever played (again, at school & during class!) was one of the best platformers ever "Prince of Persia" (the game that inspired "Abes Odyssey" as it had the exact same control system & play style. I was already a gamer as I got my first console (the Atari 2600) when I was 7yrs old, then a Sega Master System, Sega Megadrive, Super Nintendo, (& in 1997 got my first PC & a demo of Fallout 2! still my FAV RPG!) PS1, Nintendo 64, Xbox, Xbox 360 & then became a true PC gamer in 2002. I think Im a hardcore gamer....

My fondest memory of obscure adventure combos was Discworld 1... I can't recall what goes where but.... Let's just say that in order to beat that game without a cheat sheet... You have to come dangerously close to thinking like Terry Pratchett... Idk if he was involved creating the game, but, if not, the team that was were giga-Discworld fans or at least uncomfortably familiar with the finer nuances of the minds that birthed Horrible History or Monty Python.... Or all the above.
I require octarine post haste, else I'll have to wait til tomorrow to meet my dinner date in the middle of Ahnk-Morpork to get the latest imp crafted real time painting and see what Dibbler is dabbling in today.

This game deserve to be successful. Maybe i am biased as a backer, but over the years watching this game develop is nothing but passion of the developers materialized.
This and Disco are going to steal many of hours from me. Kinda funny you completely missed out on talking about the game's combat related stuff.

i cant help but think that this would be a lot more interesting if was from a different camera angle, a lot closer one, a more classic one for a point and click game. the top down view is a huge minus to me in general, it rarely works for me, notable exception is the XCOM series and alike. Even in Divinity Original Sin 1-2 i wish i could play in a 3rd person mode, i will never understand why that is not an option in the game, especially when the game environment is full 3D.

How so? I am currently replaying Septerra Core and except from _maybe_ the isometric world view, there is not much that I would call similar.

Oh dear lord, did I HATE Stasis. I only got it because of the glowing reviews that game got, and I found it utterly horrendous. The horror was cringey and full of overdone tropes, and the puzzles were "adventure game logic" in the bad way (albeit, to be fair, it wasn't THAT bad on that front). But the visuals! Man, those made my eyes water. Literally. I was tearing up because of how blurry everything was. :/ If this is anything even CLOSE to Statis, it's a hard pass from me.
Sounds like an issue with yourself than the game. Stasis was/is fantastic.
@@stevenlornie1261 Are we really talking about the same game? The horror elements were tropy AF with almost no originality on that front. Pick an overused sci-fi horror trope, and that game has a near text-book example of it. Evil corporations? Check. Evil / mad scientists? Check. Acid vats? Check. But my biggest issue was definitely the blurry visuals. I don't recall that game having any settings that I could tweak to improve said visuals. To be fair, they weren't blurry to the point where I couldn't see... they were just the "wrong" type of blurry where my eyes clearly had issues after a longer gaming session.

Damn it! I REALLY got my hopes up when I received the email from GOG about this game thinking it was going to be an isometric view, RPG just like Fallout & Fallout 2, but then my heart broke as I saw no, its just another "point & click" adventure game of which I played sooooo many of when I grew up & because they were 1,000 times better back then (Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis) so a modern point & click game would have to be 10/10 just to even compete! & this doesnt look like a 10/10 game does it? & Imagine this, in grade 5 through 7 my teachers let me play these games on the school PC DURING school! While other kids sat jealously watching & I still tested in the top 97%!!
