I have had all of these at one time or another - but I have also had long term relationships in which none of these things occurred. i.e. not using my name, not asking me questions, etc. In the 4 relationships I have had - none of them ever said they where single. I have literally never heard that from a woman I'm interested in, dated or been in a relationship for years with. Are these signs also divergent based on culture? Massively - here in Australia woman are much more stand off-ish & subtle than European women (speaking in sweeping generalities). I met a German girl the other day who looked me straight in the eyes multiple times and gave me a smile and smiled more when I smiled back at her. A really cute girl asked me what time it is at the airport just as I was hurriedly walking towards the ground transportation area. Like an idiot, I just told her what time it is because it didn’t occur to me that she was actually trying to break the ice. She looked really annoyed when I told her the time. That’s when I realized I better act fast for recovery pass so I smiled at her and asked her how was her flight. One small talk after another, we wound up talking for hours at a restaurant nearby. Timing is everything. That experience taught me to be on my toes if I don’t want to miss an opportunity.

The intent to determine if the girl was my partner was obvious, as I noticed it took the girl several tries to get the bump just right so that it wasn't too much (I just didn't put two and two together until after the interaction).
