I had a female co-worker once who displayed all these signs towards me in fact we became really close friends so I manned up and told her "I liked her and that would should be a couple" she hit me with "I only like u as a friend" so reality isn't what it's cracked up to be! 🤦♂️
A lot of times that "I like you only as a friend" is a shit test in a way. I once had this chick show me these pictures of her to get my opinion on which ones looked the best (We knew each other well at this point, same humor/sarcasm). And she starts talking about her family and I start giving her shit in a playful way and she goes "were just friends, a white guy would have to be really special" and I further joke about "Oh what, I'm not special?" In a causal sarcastic way with a smile. Fast forward a week or so later when I saw her again and she asks If I want her number, starts complimenting how beautiful my eyes are, etc.
TBH You probably scared her cuz you said "we should be a couple" lol, so in order to save any relationship with you she preserved the friendship instead. They may sit and fantasize about you all day, but when you directly push the boundary, they pull away.
It's like stage fright. I can sit and think about a presentation and go over it the night before perfectly. But when I'm asked to step up and do it in reality, the adrenaline starts going and I'm like "oh shit idk If I can do this".

The first one's the most difficult and I'm stuck with it! I have a coworker that I do find attractive but don't really know her. Since I came back from medical leave, I'm looking and feeling a lot better. A lot more confident and harder working. I think it's flattering even if a girl is not available or not necessarily attracted to you but finds you hot. It caught my attention from a girl co worker who is really beautiful, striking. A very pretty indian girl. And I couldn't help wonder if she finds me good looking, because she seemed always away of my presence as far as looking at me. Everyone looks at ppl that's normal. She didn't look away, it wasn't a smile, but she still looked at me just before couldn't see her as she passed by the itams on the pallet at the warehouse. I usually don't wear form fitting shirts. I'd usually wear, they weren't loose polo shirts. But in the winter I started wearing a form fitting shirt and I came in one day, I didn't wear such before at work or not when she was. It was amsuing, I think sub conscious but as I walked by her, she did a very quick double take. Looked at my eyes, very quickly to my torso then back to my eyes again ha. Just like all businesss we've been wearing masks at work forever so this is while we have masks on. But we both know what each other look like without masks since we've seen each other in the break room many times where you can obviously go without masks in there. So what do you think? Think she finds my handsome to do this?

Well I shouldn’t say never. More like it has happened a few times but I get turned down if I act upon her signs. In most cases I feel like they were either practicing their moves to see if they work or just trying to get a confidence boost by having someone notice her.
The same thing happened to me - when you want to step up the game, they just lose any interest.

I am this kind of person too. And I have been single all my 26-years-old-life. I have never kissed a girld too. Our situations can't be just pure accidents - it seems like women do not like men of our type, even though they say (only say!) they like. I had a slightly different situation - I got on well with a girl, she seemed to like me, she gave some signals (e.g. playing with her hair, her pendant, teasing me), but when I asked her directly what her intentions were, she completely ignored me and our friendship died. Who knows whether it was also just a ploy on the part of this girl or not in your case? Don't beat yourself up about it.
The one lie was the difference maker. Who knows what would of happened if you had told the truth. Also truth is the foundation that you must build a relationship on if you want it to be an enduring one.
Most of us are clueless in our teens and twenties. Try not to beat yourself up about this, and learn from what happened. Unless you're a Greek god you aren't as interesting to women at 20 as you will be at 40, so take heart. Take this opportunity to work on making yourself awesome and self-sufficient and a time will come when you will have to choose between women. Take it from a guy who's 57 and has been there.

What turns a guy off faster than anything, is a girl thinking it all about her.
I dealt with a girl who’d happen to be wherever I was. Her move was to make a scene and accuse me of stalking her. After that I began walking the opposite direction whenever I’d see her. After about a week of this she chases me down and berates me, saying she likes me. I shook my head and kept moving away from her. From then on I dealt with rotating intervals of her accusing me of stalking her or chasing me down and coming onto me whenever we’d “accidentally” cross paths. Then one day she aggressively came onto me while I told her to leave me alone. She behaved in such a way that had our places been switched I would have easily been convicted of SA were charges pressed. Luckily my family left the following day and I never saw her again

I am glad that I took myself off the market years ago after my divorce. Most women don't like a man who tests them, but also most women do nothing but test a man, and I am not into those games. Have I seen any of these signs? Yes, but I just ignore them.
Don’t think this advice necessarily means she’s interested romantically; seems more in the scale towards normality like the asking about my dog and she cares; I do that too and think we all can try to care about someone even if we aren’t trying to pursue them
