A coach doesn’t like to be coached by a player. Dan Hurley made the right choice.
Smart man. Why go to LA where you have an old ass star & a dude who gets hurt when a heavy wind blows. Very limited draft assets and no young talent to develop. Lakers really went all in for lebron and got a bubble ball banner and nothing before or after.
Lebron should take his talents elsewhere and get that MONEY!

JJ has no negotiating leverage because Dan Hurley is a two time National Championship coach while JJ is a podcaster.
Now that the details are out on how much the Lakers were willing to pay Dan Hurley, I wonder if JJ Reddick will demand the same contract of $70 million over 6 years.

I didn’t think Hurley was a good fit for the NBA culture. His style of coaching, having to be a puppet head coach to Lebron is not ideal.
Frank Vogel was a proven NBA coach with playoff experience, won a title with the Lakers, and was still pushed out after good seasons with playoff success.
Why would Hurley sign up for that kind of work environment? You can’t let the crazy money lead you into a bad situation. Hurley is being paid quite handsomely in Connecticut, and probably will see a raise in the near future as well.

JJ Reddick might not be hired, because it was reported that Anthony Davis was not onboard with hiring Reddick. I think the Lakers might have to cast a wider net to find someone that the players are ok with.
