    I really do hope they will add SOME theming. Part of why Velocicoaster is so damn good is that the theming is done so well. The way this looks they might as well have built it in a parking lot.

      @Primogen18 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      BGW is such a mixed bag when you have rides like this in a park with rides like Pompeii, verbolten, and alpengeist. This looks really stark though in a field pretty much

    • @ashleighelizabeth5916
      @ashleighelizabeth5916 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@Primogen18 very true. Griffon and Apollo's Chariot are pretty poorly themed as well. However Griffon is in the heart of the French area and benefits from the theming around it and Apollo's Chariot at least has some woodland and rolling hill scape under it. But as you say this just looks like it was stuck in an empty field. It's a good looking coaster and being stuck on a flat piece of ground is not necessarily the end of the world when it comes to theming. I mean honestly Hulk at Universal is on a flat piece of gravel but the que line and lift hill and effects all help to overcome that particular issue. The same is true with Batman the Ride at Six Flags over Georgia. It was literally built on the edge of the parking lot but they themed the que line pretty well between the idea of industrial crime ridden warehouses and streets of Gotham and the Batcave section.
      You know they had two years to get this thing looking good before it opened and it's just disappointing to me that a park that is so renowned for it's beauty (how many years have they won most beautiful theme park now????) couldn't come up with something better than this for such a nice coaster.

    • @rdbarne
      @rdbarne 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree....It looks kinda cheap....maybe when the trees and grass turn green it won't be so bad...Drachen Fire was built out in a field but i remember the the walkways around the ride and the viewing area around the final helix allowed you to sort of interact with the ride.

    When the train failed to crest that one hill midway through the ride, I thought it was a malfunction! That’s very clever how the designers added that in. When first approaching that hill, the train doesn’t have enough speed to make it over the top. However, after going through the rollback and then attempting the hill again, the train has more speed and is able to make it over the top. Looks like a really smooth ride, too!

    I do hope they add some theming later on. Abyssus opened without complete theming but then it was added later and many other coasters have done that as well.
    Pantheon doesn't need anything extravagant but some rock work and faux ancient ruins would be really cool. When they first announced Pantheon they said the different sections would represent different Roman gods. I think they could incorporate that idea in a meaningful way by adding the ruins and then large sculptures of the corresponding God that you would pass by in each tract section. No one is expecting Expedition Everest. But touches like that could be reasonably affordable and would really add to the excitement and overall theme and it would complement the Festa Italia area very well.

Usually these types of coasters have a simple element and it’s a short ride.

    Idk why but I’ve always thought the layout was kind of lame however I’m not talking about the elements themselves as they look amazing! I’m talking about the flow of them for example, after the top hat it does a sharp right into the outward banked hill then another right turn into the stall, finally left turn into another banked hill and into the brakes. Like the track barely crosses over and the ride just ends after the banked hill. Again the elements look awesome! But the flow from each just seems off to me.

      I said the same thing...that final turn after the stall seems weird like it doesn't have that graceful flow into the that banked hill. They could've maybe went back into the field and did another inversion then turn back to the station. The ride seems short

      @@rdbarne I wouldn’t say it’s short based on the swing launch, but yeah especially the ending. I’m sure it gives great airtime, but it just ends right after. wholly smokes this ride is amazing. I totally thought the ride malfunctioned just to realize the fall back was part of the experience. It's been a while since ive been on or paid attention to coasters (Grew up in Ohio) so its cool to see creative ideas like this. very cool.

    You know, the only thing I kinda wish they had was a vertical loop between the launch and back spike. I feel like that would have really pushed this into an elite coaster. It looks great don't get me wrong, but it just feels like it's missing 1 punch that would make it spectacular.

    I wish we got the full layout to this ride. It's missing over 1000ft of track because BGW weren't allowed to let it cross the river.
    Apparently it was going to have two shuttle sections with the second launching you across the river into a 300+ ft spike that you come down backwards as you haul ass into the final brakes into a mini spike/switch track back into the station.

    Really not a fan of these over-stabilized videos that completely mute the snappiness of some of the elements.
    EDIT: The outward banked hill at 0:27 just gets completely eliminated. The steepness coming down from the top-hat at 0:59 gets de-emphasized. The zero-G stall at 1:12 gets turned into a boring, traditional zero-G roll. All the snappy rolls heading into the brake run are just completely eliminated.
    Who is asking for this absurd stabilization? It lessens the apparent intensity of the ride.
