For anyone who sees this, I did tons of research before buying and went with the Uplift V2 Commercial C Frame. It’s on the heavy duty 4.7” casters and it’s on carpet. It’s extremely stable. Can’t even get it to wobble unless I really put force into it.
Thank you for this video. I have Uplift, Autonmous, and Ikea Idasen standing desks (yes, all three of them) on the carpet, and they all wobble. I was about to place an order of Uplift 4 legs, but I guess that won't help. Have you had a chance to test L-shape standing desk on the carpet? I wonder if they are better.
Is there some kind of floor mat or anything that would help? Or just putting some thin flat wood under the desk legs? Unfortunately I have carpet in my home office
Is really mushy carpet that the desks can mold into a little not give up as much stability because I have a desk on carpet rn and it’s fine and I’m just about to upgrade in size?
I wonder if casters on carpet would make a difference in stability, because they contact the floor with much less area than those disk-shaped feet. The caster wheels should push deeper into the carpet pile and compress the underlay. Give that a try.

We have thick carpeting (inch and a half) and just bought an Apex Pro 30 x 60. At 42" it is very, very stable. Front to back. Side to side.
This was a great video, loved to see the comparison and some engineering logic :D

How about C-shape vs T-shape...which one is the stability killer then ?
